Not satisfied with how ammo boxes turned out. Couldn't make "rusty look" work so I opted for "worn metal" but overdid it. But at some point you have to admit that things are as good as they'll get and further messing with it will only make it worse. Stuff on the right Royal Model resin kit, stuff on the left boxes and magazines included in kit and some extra parts I had from previous kit.

I recently did this kit myself! Loved building it. Yours is much better.

First two figures. My first serious attempt at shadowing this scale and face shadowing. Neither turned out perfectly. I'm still trying to find face shadowing technique that works for me. Still a lot of elarning so these faces look like.... well.... something.......

I'm calling this done. Somewhat dissapointed at how it turned out. Even if it was still "getting back on the horse" type of project I hoped it will turn out better.

I wa splanning on making a flak bunker but that fell through. Either I got bad batch or crap producer but if I looked at it sideways it started to fall apart, if you slipped knife a hair width it turned out badly and don't get e started on gluing it together. So I ditched that and improvised this dug out. I see now I should ahv echosen smaller base.

But I did learn some improtant things, namely that flak vierling is great kit (and cheap!), Trumpeter figures are to be avoided, how to build plank wall/trench shoring and benches, a bit of weathering and shadowing on figures (this requires a lot more practise), Vallejo 830 and 920 are not good choices for field grey and I should stick to Life Color set.

Paints: mostly acrylics, some enamel and hardware brown spray paint

Album info

My first serious diorama project since I've restarted this hobby. Will post as it progresses.

Diorama will be 1:35, 20mm Flakvierling 38 (Tamiya) in a flak bunker and some stuff that wil be added as I'll see fit.

I've build the platfor for this flak but didn't attach it. I don't have bunker yet so I don't know how much space will be for things like that. I didn't build traielr, kept it for potential use later.
