Nice, I like it. The weathering on the top surfaces, like on the white cross, is beautifully done.
Thank you mate!
Lovely! Very convincing weathering.
Thanks! I always do the best I can, and really appreciate your comment
Looks highly realistic, love it!
Very good result 👍
Thanks Rui! Many thanks Ben!
A fascinating and clearly a challenging project! Do you have George Bradford's scale drawing of this tank? If not, i would be happy to send you a scanned copy.
Thanks Mark! Yes I do own Bradford's book. In fact, I took my templates from there. The thing is that the tracks are kind of unique.... It's been an ordeal and they had to coincide with the pitch of the handmade sprockets. I tried to sculpt them and then get resin copies, but this excedes by far my skills and the project is in my "incomplete projects" drawer now until I figure out the tracks issue.
This does sound like an ordeal. I have to wonder whether there is a CAD/3D print solution (not that I have any technical abilities in that area).
Yes, that could be a good solution! I do not own a 3D printer and the 3D printing services I tried ask me for a CAD design which I don't have or know how to do. Besides, we are talking about over 100 individual links or two very long "flexible" tracks which cost a lot more than a resin kit. Nevertheless, I recently contacted a friend of mine which owns a 3D manufacturing facility for industry and maybe he could let me play with one go his printers for a while... so I still believe!
I recently received the 3D-printed tracks that I ordered for my Hotchkiss H-39 project. They are amazing - four fully-articulated segments, so they only need to be joined twice on each side. The detail is outstanding, though they are expensive, and they will be rather fragile.
Thanks for the tip Mark!
Nice looking Stuart. You should rotate the pics to be upright.
Yeap, I was in a hurry yesterday but I'll fix that ASAP.
Looks good. I like the details and the metal effect.
Nice work 👍
Pic #3 is upside down and maybe next time you could put the pictures in build/sequence order. With that out of the way, I tip my hat to you on a great build. I'm very impressed with the weathering. Two questions, did the PE come with the kit if not what is it and where did you get the barrels?
Well done! I am working on the same build now. Basepaint applied. Moving on to decals and weathering. I hope to achieve results similar to yours. Very realistic weathering!!
Thank you for your nice comments. The MG barrels were from three sources which I'm updating in the project's inventory. I did not use turned aluminum gun barrel because the one provided with the model was much better looking.. I think it is slide-molded.
All the PE used in this project was from ET Model. However, I just don't like simulated grills! the turret hatches and engine doors handles were made from copper wire. The antena was from a broken guitar string. The tow cable was made from copper .... cable.
I was a bit disappointed with the kit's decals as only one set covered my project subject. Besides, I thought that yellow was too bright for a sun-exposed vehicle. So, I made or painted all markings including the yellow band around the turret. I also added some notorious foundry markings which show in many M3 photographs.
I had a lot of fun building this kit. It is accurate and the fitting is superb! Probably I'll make another one with interiors sometime in the future.

Wow - how big is that thing?
Following - looks interessing......
Exactly 71.8 cm wingspan!
I won't miss this!
The fit is poor for nowadays standards. So, a lot of filling, sanding, polishing and panel re-scribing to do before I even try a natural metal finish!

Another interested follower!
Looks great! Is the model completed?
Hi! Thank you! My Dad got Covid and had to stop everything for a while...He is recovering now and back to the workbench. The issues with fitting are slowing me down ... lots of sanding and panel rescribing!
Hi Luis, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad he is recovering.
I'm glad he is recovering too 🙂👍.
