Sigh, I need to modify this kit to the 76 (w) version of the M4A3 Jumbo to match the one in Steel Titans. At least there are some barrels to allow me to convert it. Is there anything else I need to change though?
Yes, I know this is one of Tamiya's older models and that there are probably better Jumbos now but I don't mind. Ever since Covid blinded me early last year I started rethinking the hobby. While I think a lot of detail is awesome at the same time it's kinda lost on me. A lot of the fine details would be lost on me without my thick glasses and my big handheld magnifying glass. I feel real dumb about some of the models I have because they have real fine photoetch like my Trumpeter Hetzer Starr or a full interior like the Hobbyboss Panzer 1 I have I have in my stash. If the parts are too terribly small I will probably need someone's help and even then I could damage those parts in handling it if it's too fine to see.
This makes me kinda glad that most of the 1/72 airplane kits in my stash are older hand-me-downs from my Dad. I can still build a decent model of what I want to BUT they don't have such tiny details that I need to feel panicked about. If I didn't have so many 1/72 kits though it'd probably be better to switch to OLD 1/48 or 1/32 scale models. The hardest part about 1/72 will be the WW1 model planes my Dad gave me to build. I was glad to have them when I still could see in 20/20, even though I'm also colorblind, but now that I'm legally blind I have no idea how I will build those. Dad has no interest in WW1 planes now either so it makes me wonder what to do.
I've thought of trading models or selling them but my parents were smokers up until my Dad's stroke the year before last. I haven't found anyone who wants models that were in a smoker's household. I understand why but it sucks. Anyway, check my stash & if there's WW1 stuff you want I'm willing to trade for old mold 1/48 models. I mostly like WW2 stuff but I like me some jet fighters as much as the next guy.

As far as part count goes this can scarcely be called a model BUT the amount of fine details molded into this resin are just incredible!! Be very careful with handling it as it would be so easy to snap pieces off of this thing. Just handling it to look it over was knocking away pieces of the 3D print "trees." The loops guarding the headlights are so incredibly fine that I didn't even want to breathe on them wrong. All in all this won't be a difficult build, as far as I can see, the real challenge will be getting it onto the workbench, building it & getting it on display without breaking anything!
