Steven Van Dyck I hope you soon find the courage to complete the set. I have a way to last through the hard part:

26. August at 01:16:03
James C Well, it's a bust. Went to do another block of twenty and found a number of the previously assembled links not pivoting, probably due a bit of glue seepage. If I didn't have Tourette's before, I sure as F*%k do now.

Going to sideline this build until I decide what to do next.
26. August at 03:08:25
Peter Hardy Sometimes it's ok to swear!
26. August at 03:10:18
Steven Van Dyck Even when they don't pivot, they should bend enough to get them around the wheels?
26. August at 10:01:16
Rene Scheiblich Swearing? Isn't that supposed to be an integral part of the hobby? ;)
Steven, wouldn't they break after a while if forced?
I'd use the stuck parts for the lower run. For these super fiddly assemblies I use a fine syringe needle or piece of wire to apply the extra thin tamiya stuff. The brush is ok but I often manage to blob a huge drop on with that one... Hamfisted :D
26. August at 13:29:54
James C Decided to biff the Bronco tracks. Just wasn't worth the hassle in the end, and while I could have just glued them together and bent them around the drive and idler wheels, it would have defeated the purpose of attempting to make them workable in the first place. Have ordered a set of Friuls to use instead and just hope that the modifications I made to the drive wheels using the Bronco parts wont cause any misalignments. Failing that I'll just build the Tamiya kit and use them on that instead.
01. September at 00:22:22
Rene Scheiblich Well. Sorry to hear about the wasted time mate!
But somehow Friul seems the safe way to go in a lot of cases.. If I go for replacement I get Friul now that I've tried them. Can get expensive though :)

Johne 69 Very Nice Chally
05. October at 17:27:13
James C Thanks Bart, Bryn Jasper and Johne. :) This one was finished back in March and am surprised to see it still being commented on. I'm pretty pleased with the builds I've done this year as I personally think they look much better than all my previous builds. Cheers for the feedback.
05. October at 23:59:37
Daniel Klink Looks great.. absolute clean and Marvelous Result Without any "Schnickschnack" :)
Could be from a brochure
06. October at 00:07:50
James C Thanks Daniel. I had intended to add some stowage items for the bins but never did get around to it.
06. October at 00:10:26
Peter Hardy Schnickschnack? That I can almost translate! :)

Don "The Don" Hi Peter. It is just super to see a project unfold like that. I have been away from modelling for about a month. James's Lang has inspired me enough to take out a stash item. Takom 1/35 Merkava 2b and make a start last night. Annual holidays coming up shortly but I will keep at it. Weathering is my hardest part as too much takes away from the model or messes it up. I have to work on that area big time. Good luck with the mighty Bismark. You have made a very good start. Love the brass.
24. September at 14:43:39
James C Thanks Jean-Michel, Rui, Johne 69 and Moritz and sorry for the late reply guys. :)
28. September at 23:13:31
Peter Hardy Don, welcome to the world of mere mortals. Jimbo inspires an awful lot of us. You are not alone there. I put him in the "Master" category of armour modellers. Just awesome build after awesome build. I hate it when Kiwi's excel at something. (Just an Aussie / Kiwi thing). Good luck with the Merkava, any problems don't hesitate to PM ........................ James!
29. September at 01:28:47
James C Lol Pete. You really are a Muppet sometimes LMAO. :P :#
29. September at 04:54:12
Don "The Don" Thank you Peter. Appreciated. I guess as Irish I lean slightly more to Australia. Convict days and cricket etc.!!! Regards to you and James.
29. September at 15:05:04
James C Cheers Don and glad I have been of some inspiration. Good luck with the Merkava and post some progress pics when able.
30. September at 04:42:56
Lode Schildermans I like very much the camo. Do you do intend to do weathering in the future?
03. October at 22:59:04
James C Thanks mate. I've weathered it about as much as I wanted to.
I could have taken it further, but didn't want it to look too used and abused etc. I guess it's a fine line between too little and too much. On past builds, I've been guilty of over doing it a tad. ;)

Rene Scheiblich That is true. Park an M1 Abrams or Leo2 for 60 years... Not a chance in hell :D
13. August at 17:31:37
Raimondas Ciuplys Now it's restored and exhibited in Latvia, Daugavpils museum.
13. August at 17:36:01
Raimondas Ciuplys These guys did a lot of work before restarting the engine. The electric system had to be reinstalled, high-pressure pump needed to be replaced and the aluminium cooling radiators were missing, stolen for metal. All the loose parts also were stolen for scrap metal.
13. August at 17:44:39
Rene Scheiblich Nonetheless impressive! No major surgery in the inner workings of the engine. Shame about the scavenging... Are you from the area? :)
13. August at 17:59:03
Raimondas Ciuplys No, I'm from Lithuania. The story was described by the company that had salvaged ISU and in other Russian fora.
13. August at 18:11:44
Rene Scheiblich I see :)
Time to learn some kyrillic it seems. Google translate is kind of derpy with russian.
13. August at 19:16:04
David Thor Great work!
13. August at 21:27:38
Peter Hardy Interesting. Anywhere else in the world it would have been either craned or winched onto a float and taken to a workshop to be stripped down and restored, then, and only then, started.

Dan M Somehow I missed this one! Really nice build and paint job! I do envy your freehand german camo airbrush skills as I can't seem to be able to do anything other than a big mess :)
02. July at 15:40:53
James C Thanks Dan. :)

I've been trying to get tighter spray patterns and am getting a little better at it. So far I've found setting the compressor at about 10 psi and removing the needle guard from the tip of the airbrush helps a lot. But the tricky part is getting the tip of the needle close to the surface of the model and keeping it at a constant distance while spraying the pattern.
02. July at 22:06:35
Rene Scheiblich Wow. Mean machine!
The stripes turned out really well. Seems you're ready to do some awesome night fighter camo
Good tip, I tried removing the guard... But the badger 150 won't spray without it... :(
