Yeah, I think I can get a paint brush down inside the barrel, but I will plug it off first behind the vents with a ball of blue tack.
I was considering plugging off the sponsons with some plastic sheet, but once the tracks are on, you'd be hard pressed to tell unless you removed the front guards... which I've chosen not to do. Just need to spray the inside black. I wonder if that is why it was engineered to sit a little lower than normal?
I got the hull closed up yesterday. The front end needed a little filing to get sitting flush, but I got a near perfect join in the end. I'm glad I didn't attempt to raise it 1.5mm as I think it would of caused more head aches that it was worth trying to correct.
The only filler required so far has been on the end caps of the external fuel tanks which I have plugged off with Mr Surfacer 500.
