On photo no. 6, starboard aft where the Haze Grey touched the black, the railing is bended inside. There is a bollard exactly at the place where the railing is bended. Maybe that is the reason?! Can you see what I'm talking about.
But anyhow Evan, this is an superb build. We are talking about a model in scale 1/700. I like it very much as well as the presentation.

Thanks Christian. I see what you're talking about, I probably didn't do the best job as that should be an actual bend, the ship slims right there and tapers towards the stern. An overhead view would show what I'm talking about, I'll upload one. I did a bend on the display side but as I did the starboard side first to make sure the "good" side came out looking practiced! Thanks for the comments and sharp eye, I very much appreciate it.

Michael, there's some orange-peel effect unfortunately on that but of Light Gray in that photo, but I think you're talking about the intermediate color, the Ocean Gray that looks blueish? Some of the paint came off on the edges of the turret but I figured it gave it that slight inconsistency of a human paint job just out of scale... And left it as is out of laziness. Does that answer your question? Or if you're referring to why the camo stops mirroring the hull, that would be a questions for the Bureau of Ships because I painted that area according to their schematica for the measure. I find it odd the camo stopped there but the photos of the ship match the schematic too.

Thanks,did you use a primer ?my brother always wash his sprue's into a warm water with soap(soap 4 dishes).And that big nameplate u made it by urself,or it came with the kit?

Michael, I didn't use a primer, but I gave everything a base coat of the 5-L light gray before painting final colors. For the overwhelming majority of the paint job that tactic worked well. The orange peel came from spray can gloss coat when I went to put on the number decals. And yes, I wash my sprues before I use them. Nameplate came with the kit! Trumpeter usually includes that standard design stand and then a decent nameplate.

Oh no worries, it made me look quite critically at my railings and there are plenty of ways I could improve on them. That's why I like to post here, to see what I should change! Your insight was valuable and like I said I didn't do a clear bend there like I should've. Lesson learned! Thanks a bunch!
