1/72 Academy Boeing B377SGT-201 Super Guppy "1"
|Timeline:||Started on December 23, 2020|
This one is a sad one for anyone who likes the Super Guppy.
I was looking at shelling out for a 1/144th Super Guppy but they cost the same as the Academy 72nd KC-97 and with the potential of soo much detail I can no longer resist!
I am going to attempt to build the Boeing B377SGT-201 Super Guppy F-BTGV "1" which was until December 2020 preserved at Bruntingthorpe Car Park.
Long story short the owner David Walton lost interest in aviation and sold out to a car company whith no interest to let any aircraft stay on the airfield.
In his attempt to try and play down what he was doing to the aircraft he claimed to have a passion for by creating a little museum hiding in the trees behind the lightning QRA Sheds, he single handedly ensured the destruction of the most unique preserved aircraft on display to the public in the UK.
As of the 23rd December only the fuselage forward of the wings and the wings up until the outer engines are remaining.
