My son and I just got the set as a gift, and thought we'd give it shot. I didn't see recommended paints in the instructions. I don't suppose you remember the colors you used, or was their a color scheme that was supposed to be in the box, that we missed?

Wow, I've been away from Scalemates for quite a while now. The answer about the color: in addition to the simple black and white, I used a medium gray to represent the bare metal areas. I use Vallejo acrylics, I don't remember the exact gray I used on these.

Very nice work. I have the same kit and well get to it some day. I have found a 1:200 scale shuttle that I am going to add to my display. BTW, I grow up only a few miles from the Space Center. My dad worked at the NASA HQ building for many years. I have see all of the early man space shots many from my front lawn of down on the beach and also seen many of the Shuttles launches as well. T.C. if you go to my Albums I have an album of the early rockets you are building at the NASA Visitor Center including the Saturn 1B.
