As I get more experience I hope to improve..not happy with the finish of the crew figures but will keep at it..

Appreciate the feedback.. stuck on the conning tower, dithering over trying to get a satisfactory result. I Should have built the kit as an un-named TYPE VIIC typical of its class. U-552 went through a number of changes and i think the result i have achieved so far does not quite match any particular time frame. Better off it had been a typical boat of the period..

I tend to walk away from it, pondering the best image i want to achieve, so it has been a slow project. Studying photos only adds to which direction to take as regards painting, as some show U-552 newly painted prior to missions and others where she is very weathered. I chose the latter as most u-boats looked distressed. Unfortunately it seems the option chosen by most modelers of this Boat.

appreciate the feedback. it has been a slow tedious job, having to pack and move four times. lighting is the current challenge.

Appreciate all the feed back. It is a model that has been shown on various builds and they are amazing. This model has been under work for four years to date due to moving on four occasions, and honestly was going to give up on it. Have reached the hull painting stage but having issues with fit of hull halves. thanks for the reviews.

A truly epic work! 👍 👍 Mine is still boxed up waiting to be built. I will surely come back here and look at your work for inspiration. 🙂

Thankyou. there are so many great builds of this Boat online. Hopefully i will post final result in next few days. Do your research and if the PE and 3D printed upgrades would be a consideration.
