So what did you do to get the deck smooth (remove the planking detail) ? I have the 109 kit and it looks like a daunting task to remove the planking detail.

Hi Robbie, I struggled withe the decision for a while but then I sanded the deck completely. It is quite an amount of work, but far less annoying than I expected.

Album info

Used :Revell's PT 109 kit (old tool), WEM's pe fret, WEM's 50 cal guns + colour coats, various plastic sheet, rods and tubes.
Inspired by the Book about this 50 year old kit by T. Garth Connely and a Model built by George Woijicki .
It was the first time working with p. e. parts for me.
Took me quite a while to bring to completion.
Unfortunately, for some unknown reason the enamel colour caused some overspray, which led to a somewhat 'frosted 'looking surface, if the camera comes too close. I´m not used to this kind of paint any more.
