Murad ÖZERBOOOOM! Michael my hat's off to you, first and foremost building such a dog of a kit no matter who sez what (fuselage of 6+ parts, stupid intake design, stupid mlg desing, etc etc come on...) into something like this should be commended in our hobby before anything else. as for the camo, making grey not boring yet keeping things subtle is whole another thing i admire here. i've been following this build since the beginning but folks have probably said it all before me so i've got nothing else to add here except big huge respect. 🙂 👍 👍 👍

Michael PhillipsMike, this bird is a Russian built Sukhoi. The Su-22M4 is the export variant of the Russian domestic Su-17M4, as one of the Warsaw Pact countries of the cold war, it used Russian hardware. Today, the Polish Air Force still flies this and the mig-29, but also flies one of the most advanced variants of the American F-16.

Mike DanielsThanks for the info Michael. That explains the 'Mig' look. I guess Mig and Sukhoi grew out of the same stable? I will look into that. Very distinctive planes.
Mind you, isn't it a problem now for the Polish Air Force to get spares ?

Kerry COXI should have mentioned that the discolouration of the tail pipe metal is most convincing, and not easy to do Michael. really impressive mate. 👍 I'd like to see you do your magic on an F-100 Super Sabre and all the colours it has on the tail end. :-O Yes. ?? hehehe

Kerry COXMichael. I have been hunting around for an F-100 SS and Trumpeter have one out in 1/48, and in Thunderbirds livery too. Monogram had one out a few years back, but I get the feeling Trumpeter got that old die and cleaned it up a bit. Titanium is the metal the whole back end of those 'Century' series birds had and it threw up all kinds of delicious colours and hues, and the F-100 was the best I ever saw for the effect. I have seen a lot of attempts, but not too many have been able to capture that lovely metal finish, but I rekon you could make a good job of it.

John HoffmannAll your stuff is superlative, but this one might be my favorite. To me the Fitter epitomizes Russian design of the era and you've captured that beautifully. Not to mention the credit deserved for getting to the end with all the various pointy, pokey, dicey, and slicey parts still attached!
