Hi everyone. This will be my new project as my compressor died yesterday and a new one will arrive in a few days. This will be my first Stryker and the beginning of my Stryker family. I am planning to build all the Stryker variants.

Cool project. I will watch it with interest as I also have plans to build several variants of the Stryker family. I don't have this one though. I'm curious how much the Eduard PE will improve on the Trumpeter kit.

Thank you Dan. I am not sure if i am going to use the PE set. This set was created for the initial release of the M1126 kit (old kit with the red color box layout). The kit that i have state a "NEW" logo on the box. I think Trumpeter reworked the old kit to make it a better kit as the old one was not that good.
My kit contains some different/reworked spures with more plastic and PE parts as the old kit. I think they reworked the weapon station too.

I think i need a breake from the soviet/russian armor. 🙂 Maybe some armor from other countries and then back to russian tanks. 😛 I dont know i will just decide what i really want to build.

Almost finished. Only the headlights and mirrors are missing. I decided to build an Stryker from the year 2003/2004 in Iraq. Without the cage armor but a little bit loaded with some equipment. I am planing to add some more water/fuel canister, some MRE and Cola cartons and ammo boxes. The equipment will be secured by an net that i am going to build from some masking tape.
Netx step will be priming.

Thanks James. The kit contains two small spures with backpacks and some tarps. The backpacks looks very good but unfortunately you can not hang them from the sides of the Stryker because they are molded way too flat. You can only use them on a flat surface like a roof. The equipment on the Stryker are all from scalemates.com/kits/133223-t..n-u-s-military-equipment-set.

Base painting and highlighting done. Next step will be detail painting and first coat of varnish.
Someone an idea/advise/link how to paint modern US backpacks?

Are the wheels and tires part of the kit? They're looking very good but different from the ones I see in the revieuw.

Hey Lex, the wheels and tires are part of the kit. Which review do you mean? The wheels on picture 5?

Hi Ingo. There are several reviews of this stryker. You can find them on scalemates. The pictures in those reviews show tires lacking the details I see on the tires you're using.

Hey Lex. Now i get it what you mean. The reviews for this kit were done back in the 2007 when the kit was just released. At this time the quality of this kit was not that good, so Trumpeter reworked it. As you can see in my third comment on this gallery, i have the kit with the "NEW" logo on it. Trumpeter reworked this kit, added some more/new parts and details and also replaced the tires with the new ones.

Apllied some filter for NATO vehicles to break the clean look. Already put a second layer of varnish. Next step will be washing and some minor chipping.

The second layer of varnish is drying on my T-10 right now so i decided to finally finish this model. Right now i would say its about 95% finished. I am just thinking if i should add 2-3 backpacks to the sides and some ammo boxes on the roof. The net was build from tiny stripes of masking tape and painted khaki. Took me about 2 hours to finish them. Was a little bit tricky but much fun. 🙂
