F-4 Phantom II 60th Anny Aeroscale GB

Album image #1
The kit pretty much as I received it.

Album image #2
Some of the extra goodies. The Eduard FOD & bang seat belts I am just using as examples to fashion my own.

Not a lot of progress on my own Phantom build but between some hi-res color photocopies of some PE cockpit & placard sets, the lackluster console decals & some scratchbuilding I should have a decent 3-foot cockpit, if I put the canopies down!! 😉

Had to modify the front office a little bit to fit the AeroClub seat. While it is rare that a Phantom kit needs nose weight, I shouldn’t have to worry about that! Also need to fill in the slots for the kit seats.

Didn't think it would take me four plus hours but finally got the seats fitted.

Glad my efforts with the Aeroclub seats were NOT in vain! Looks like I would have had to do the same thing with the Hasegawa bang chairs I found out after getting them (mostly) together!! One of the face curtain loops had broken off one of the seat tops, fortunately it was still in the bag. The Hasegawa seats might need some cleaning up but they certainly will not look bad.

I use the eduard F-4 pe sets for the Hasegawa F-4's on all my Phanthom models. Hasegawa, Esci, Monogram, Revell etc. I have not found one yet that it did not work on.

Thanks for that bit of info! What I've done so far is replace the rear IP with one from (I *think*) a Hasegawa kit and the front IP with one from an Academy F-4D. I will be replacing the rear consoles with some leftover Academy D ones and what I was planning on doing for the front consoles was photocopying the Eduard PE ones and just printing them out and gluing them on! LOL Cheating, I know, but I want to save the actually PE sets for my Hasegawa builds. ;-D

BTW, I found out from a friend of mine that has done literally hundreds of Phantom builds that I don't need to worry about putting weight in the nose of ANY F-4. So I will be saving the metal Aeroclub seats and installing some leftover Hasegawa bang chairs.

I have never had one be a tail sitter. Cool idea on copying the pe, never thought of that. It would save me a lot. I just bought an aeroclub MK 9 bang seat for mt jaguar, first one I have ever bought, and was the only MK9 I could find.

Not cheap but if you get two from them and maybe some other seats you can spread the S&H out:

Thanks Calvin. I forgot all about NeoMega. I have ordered stuff from them before, cockpits for my Mirage F-1''s J-37 Viggen and SU-27.
