Wim van der Luijt Nice subject...count me in! I looked at your other albums in this project, you have very good references!

Holger Kranich Hey Wim, please slip aside and pass me some popcorn, i wont miss this, too! ;)
10. April 2014 at 07:41:16
David Lengyel Thank you Wim. One of my sources is an actual L-39 pilot and he is very nitpicky when it comes to details :D

David Lengyel Some progress after a little break :)

Christian Ristits Cool project David, I like it!
26. April 2014 at 17:08:50
David Lengyel Thank you Christian, I like it too - so far :D There's a lot of work ahead and today I noticed I am not going to use half of the parts out of the box because of aftermarket conversion sets :D

Stefan Schneider Watching your project with great interest! Nice work so far!
26. April 2014 at 21:45:58
David Lengyel Thank you Stefan :)

Holger Kranich And how does it feel to be back in the modeling business?
28. April 2014 at 05:53:58
David Lengyel It's great to be back, although I have to keep the goals of the project in my mind all the time. I mean, when I saw the conversion sets with the option of the opened avionics bay, I was in awe because of the details. It's really tempting but right there I had to say to myself STOP dude, you're not going to cut everything. Keep it simple. Oh well, sometimes I wish I would not be such detail freak :D
28. April 2014 at 06:35:16
Holger Kranich Wear the chains of superdetailing with pride, David!
Its always tempting to have those options but i often stop me, not to overdo it! Well, i know how you feel! ;)
28. April 2014 at 07:25:32
David Lengyel I set up the bar: build it as real as possible, that means when it should be ready to fly, drop the flaps, open the canopy, ladder, add some RBF flags, wheel chocks and FODs. Weapon load true to the real layouts (not the imaginary to the teeth which I did before break). If there's any maintenance door opened, DO NOT equip the bird with weapons, etc. Now tell me how crazy I am :D
28. April 2014 at 07:41:38
Holger Kranich Ok, David, i do as you want:

You are a sick AMS modeler!!! ;) ;) ;)
28. April 2014 at 08:44:29
Soeren . Look nice so far! Im in :)
16. March 2015 at 08:42:49
Markus Ahh, the joys of AMS...just don't get to the point where your quest for accuracy prevents you from finishing anything (ask me how I know :D ).

Looks like a good start. I always liked the shape of the L-39 and I'm sure this will be another masterpiece like your MiG-21.
So I'm leaning back and enjoy the show...
16. March 2015 at 10:12:06
Guido Haesevoets another interesting one to follow!
16. March 2015 at 23:23:37
Bart Goesaert will follow this one also, do have them, with the same aftermarket, so spymodus is on...
17. March 2015 at 09:33:07
David Lengyel Back in the saddle :)

Clifford Keesler Looking very nice.
13. May 2015 at 22:13:41
Christian Lehmann I'll stay tuned. Have the same kits in my stash. I am curious romsee if this kit includes some traps or if it works without problems
14. May 2015 at 06:22:25
David Lengyel Some say it's terrible, some say it's easy peasy to build. So far I can't tell since I am making it hard for myself wih inexperience and stupid decisions to enhance it with resin parts :D
14. May 2015 at 06:39:50
Christian Lehmann I also will use the CMK stuff :D
14. May 2015 at 07:06:35
David Lengyel Internal bits added for a test fit. I'm glad that I have proxxon otherwise I would lose my hands on it :D Also added internal parts of auxiliard intakes and vents and cockpit side panels.

2. February 2016 at 13:35:22
