CANT Z.501 Gabbiano (Gull)

As a fan of seaplanes, I can't resist a bird like this - nearly so ugly it's pretty! Its first combat service debut was with the Aviazione Legionaria during the Spanish Civil War in small numbers but was sed extensively throughout the Second World War for Reconnaissance, Search & Rescue as well as Anti-Submarine Patrol with the Regia Aeronautica. It went on to serve with the Aviazione Cobelligerante Italiana and the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana after Mussolini was defeated. As WW2 topics are my alma mater in regards to military aviation, I intend to build this kit in Regia Aeronautica markings. It is an older kit which will require some serious work with sanding and rescribing panel lines, cleaning up kit parts and from what I've read the interior needs some real TLC so I'll be doing some scratchbuilding there. The engine will also require some detail work. With all the struts and bracework I will have to devise some sort of former to help me align and fit everything once I get to that point though.
