Seems as we have a B-1 week here! Did you got inspired by the other two or three B-one builders here?😢🙂

They pushed me over the edge 🙂 This model was one of the last I built in my youth before moving on to other interests😢. I toyed with the idea of making one again when I got back into the hobby. Just no place to put it. Now I found a spot.

...other interests... I understand...😢😢
Do you still have the old Bone from your youth? Would be cool to compare them after all These years and your new skills!

Unfortunately not. And I sort of forgot how huge this kit is. I added an anecdote to the album description. Got a little history with the aircraft.

Looks great so far! I have one of these in the stash, so I will build one some day. I will keep a close eye on yours for sure. Love the ol' BOne!

The beast is nearing completion. I used a different kind of primer. Cleaned the model before spraying and the paint still chips off removing the tape 🙁

Nice comparison with the Volksjäger😄

Yeah, the model is way too large for my modelling space so it's been moving around the house a bit during the build.

Cant get the orientation of the images right 🙁 This one is done. Despite future and microsol/set still silverring of decals 🙁

Decals were pretty thick so maybe that has something to do with it.

Beautiful work on a very sleek airplane. Looks more like a fighter than a bomber.

Album info

Unfortunately this kit does not have the rubber wheels the original had but smooth black plastic parts 🙁 On the bright side it brings back a lot of memories. Built the kit as a teenager and controlled a few flights some years later on the rare occasion they did a training mission to Europe. They usually flew a so called hi-lo-hi profile. Entering our airspace at 26000' then drop down to 1500' to fly cross country to the bombing range. Then do a high level egress. Always in pairs. Even vectored a few directly overhead our hometown because my neighbor didn't know what they looked like and wanted to know if they were as big as they said. He was impressed.... Who would't be if a pair of them flew over your backyard at a little under 1000' 🙂
