Main wheel legs and discs red to indicate that the aircraft was fitted with MW-50 and required refuelling with C3 fuel.

Wasalso wondering, what is the purpose of having brass landing gear? Is it that more detailed than plastic?

Yes, it has the brake lines already moulded on.
And the landing gear is a little bit thicker - the kit parts fit better for the F variant.
