Alex XEssentially, it's a Tamiya's JS-2 with some improvements. But the decals are simply the height of idiocy (hello, AI). "БоЯвая подруга" instead of "Боевая подруга" – it's like shitting yourself in public; despite the fact that the internet is now full of photos and videos of the prototype.

Thank you both for the pointers as to what is wrong with these models. I already have the Aber 122mm barrel for Tamiya, and plan to get the EVM replacement cupola. That should be enough.
I've decided to bail on adding the RFM to my stash, but the Zvezda's tempting, if only for the inclusion of the DShK.

KlimYarkoUnfortunately, «БоЯвая подруга» is an error that stretches back decades. It already appeared in the color plates in Steve Zaloga's ancient Osprey volume "Soviet Heavy Tanks" from the 1980s, was present in the decals in the 1990s Dragon kit, and it just keeps going. It's incredible how long-lived this basic error is.
