Hi mates, thanks for the nice comments. Slowly, the plastic parts start looking like a Mi-2. In this context, I would like to share a basic technique: on principle, I never use putty to fill. If necessary, I use superglue (Tamiya). It is well visible on the fuselage bottom and engine housing. The fitting was not the best, but I did not use any putty. I glued with superglue and ethyl acetate (plastic welder). By the way, ethyl acetate is excellent if you smooth engravings. See pictures.

Great to see the Mi-2.
Was curious about the kit.

Fortunately there are a lot of pictures of the no 4711. On this basis, I could mix the colors accordingly. Light blue = 1/3 HU130, 1/3HU129 and 1/3 RV50. Grey = 1/2 HU 5 & 1/2 Nautilus grey-green 🙂 (I left the rest of paint). On the original photos, you can see a lot of details, but also some differences between the real helicopter (4711) and the kit.

Hi Mates, thanks for watching and comments. Now the heli has all three colors and decals. Applying the large insignia on the fuselage was tricky because of gills.

Missed this one until now, a very interesting subject, I'm tuned in for the rest of the build

really nice work, respect! How is the fitting of the parts?

Mi 2 is a very interesting type. Unfortunately very seldom seen as a model. I'm glad that you like them.
@Florian: The fit is in my opinion very good with few exceptions (bottom of fuselage and clear nose and front). Because of my assembling/gluing technique (aethylacetate & superglue) this was no problem. Übrigens Respekt retour. Hab mir eben deine Werke angesehen. Z. b. Unter japanischer Flagge in 144. Der Rotor vom Kamow ist super.

I'm always stunt how many "parts" a helicopter has.

then you should see Kittx Hawk's new AS365. IHMO a very complicated fuselage break down.

Superb work. How did you get along with the decals?

Erik Houghton
That is a gorgeous color scheme, wish I could find decals for it in 72nd.

Hi Felix. Decals are excellent; thin but very durable. No problems. Only the insignia I had to cut and correct with paint. Curious: the "white" is more a light grey ala FS 36375 (HU 127)🙂
Without comparison with a true white it is not remarkable.

So many nice comments, and it is not even finished yet! Thanks.
Augie: by the way something I have wanted to say for long time: what you are doing with a brush is amazing. I could not even paint a wheel with a brush, honestly. I always airbrush🙂

It's a GEM! 👍

regarding the ca + plastic glue for filler, do you mix those 2 together and apply or am i missing something here?

Ausgezeichnet!! 👍

Danke Bill! Eine Freude von Dir zu hören und dass auf Deutsch (Very glad to hear from you, in German).

Murad: Ethylacetate is a plastic welder (no plastic glue) and thin like water. I use it when parts fit well. Hold the parts together, apply with a small brush, wait 10 seconds, press, wait 10 seconds again = ready. From the welded (glued) area welded plastic comes out and fills the seam. After a few hours the welded area is as hard as plastic. If the parts do not fit well (bigger gaps) I use CA glue. The one from Tamiya in a rectangular applicator is excellent for filling gaps. I do not mix CA with ethylacetate (this does not work).
