Nice work Clifford. I really like the color scheme/markings you put on this one. You really uplifted this old kit.

Thank you very much Nathan. Your kind words mean a lot. It was a lot of work, but an enjoyable build. Eventually I will finish the Mig-27.

Wooow, are those bullet holes or rivets?😢

Nice job mate, great result with this oldie👍 Had my share of the MiG-27 kit 20 years or so ago

That really turned out great Clifford! I love that scheme, and plan to do the exact one myself eventually.

Thank you very much Alexander, Roland and Michael, for your kind words. It makes me feel good that you like it. @ Alexander, they are supposed to be rivets. LOL. Guess I need to use a smaller needle. I used the same one I use for scribing panel lines. I threw every PE detail set that Eduard makes at this one. It was a lot of fun. The Mig-27 will get the same treatment. I may try to add more riveting to the 27 with my riveting tool.

Since I recently riveted an entire 1/48 MH-53E (it is HUGE and it has A TON of rivets), I can share something I found that works for me. What I did is place a thick tape (such as letraset or Tamiya tape for curves) where I wanted the row of rivets to be, and then took a pencil and drew a line using the tape as the guide. I then removed the tape and ran the tool over the line freehand. I found that to work much better than just using the tape itself as the guide. It does take some practice, so do so on scrap plastic first.

I have the RB rivet tool, not sure what you have, but it works really well.

The Trumpeter one is really $hit, also considering buying a proper one for quite some time. Everyone is praising "Rosie the riveter" but almost 30€ for just one size....dunno:/

I am aiming at some modular type like Michael mentioned by RB models but they seem to be sold out.

Yes they are hard to get. That is the one I want, but it seems like it is always out of stock, so must be very popular. I agree the Trumpeter one is a POS.

Found another one, they also had them listed on eBay recently. Seems legit, but they are asking 25$ for shipping from China.

Looks legit, shipping seems a little steep.

rosie the rivetter is idd expensive, but very good... With regards to the model: very nice work to this old kit...

you may also consider the RaduB productions riveting wheels, they works great and less expensive than the rosie products.
Very nice Mig Btw.
