Hey everyone, Just got two new airbrushes. Number 1 is the Badger 200NH single action, bottom Siphon, internal mix. Kit comes with hose, color jar and small color cup. $59.99 USD at Michaels. Number 2 is Central Pneumatic double action, bottom siphon, internal mix. Kit comes with color jar and small color cup (No hose). $19.99 USD at Harbor Freight Tools. I have been wanting to try Harbor Freight airbrush for some time. My Grex TS airbrush just is not work out for me. It's the side feed model witch now I do not like. So I will try the Harbor Freight model to hone my skills before moving on to a better airbrush. I already have a Badger 200 but it's old and wearing out. so I got a new one. A beaded hose is good news as I have a Vinyl one.

Have fun with your new toys John 🙂 Did you try gravity feed system?

Good AB. I got mine back in 1980. Been going strong since. I have only replaced the needle twice in all that time and finally this past year I had to send it to Badger to get the inner seal replaced. You should send your old one back and get it refurbished. Should only cost you just the shipping. They literally refurbished mine at no charge to me. I can't complain 😎 . Here is their link to get it serviced - badgerairbrush.com/Service-Supprt.asp

Congratulations, John 👍 🙂

Always a good thing to ease into things, especially when (semi-)professional airbrush equipment can be quite expensive.

As David mentioned, I personally prefer a gravity fed airbrush because it allows me to add paint in the cup in much smaller quantities. If, f.i., I want to paint very small items, I merely add a couple of drops of paint in the cup and it's ready to go. With a bottom fed system the tube of the siphon needs to be emerged in paint to be able to pick it up, so larger quantities are required even if you would need just one or two drops (which can go a LONG way with an airbrush).

Another big advantage of gravity fed systems is the fact the you can use lower compressor pressures. In turn this allows you to get closer to your object and lessen over-spray plus allow more control over painting smaller detail.

But, a lot of it comes down to personal preference and abilities of the user of course 🙂

So, have fun with your newly acquired airbrushes! 👍 👍

Dave, Robbie and John Thanks. I have not try a Gravity feed. I am hoping to get the feel of the double action with the Harbor Freight cheap one before moving up to a better Gravity one.

Hey john. You will love easy ness of the harbor freight one. I got the set (aircompresser and all) and I learned how to use a double action airbrush very well. Its also really really eaasy to clean.
What are your plans for the grex??

Hunter, I dont know what I will do with the Grex. May be after I have played around with the Harbor Freight double action I may go back to it but for now it will set and collect dust. I did send back 3 old Badger 200's I have back to Badger for servicing last week so I will have several backups. I will still look for a gravity feed and If I can find one at a good price I may get one.

Well guy's I got a new airbrush this week. It's the Badger 155 "Anthem" I got it at Michaels using an 40% off discount coupon. I finally tried out my harbor Freight double action airbrush the $20.00 USD one and in my option it's a piece of s@#* I mean crap. It does not spray consistency and it was hard to adjust. I was hoping to learn more about double action airbrushing before buying a more expensive double action airbrush. Using the Harbor Freight one is just not worth my time. I would not have gotten the Badger 155 with out the 40% off coupon. I saved over $70 USD using it. So now I will start learing on the 155. Your results may vary.
