Just some quick snaps right after i finished airbrushing and cleaning the airbrush.. It'll need copious amounts of dirt after i finish the camo scheme 😄

Nice late version! I know the kit, be careful with the tracks, they are a bit short!;)

It's a simple kit, you can finish this one in a single day (not including cleaning and painting) But the primer i used (Vallejo Surface Primer) is a bit "soft". I put some masking tape on the side for masking, but when i pulled it off it came with a bit of primer, leaving a blank spot on the side (as you can see in pic #2). Not sure what i did wrong here, maybe the layer is too thick? I put the primer on last weekend..

Have you cleaned the plastic before you applied the primer? I had the same trouble with an other model. Sice that day i use warm water with a drop of dishcleaner to clean bevore painting.

I did, usually i'll leave the model sitting in a bowl of soapy water, but i cleaned this one with soapy water and a cheap toothbrush..

Hi Eend...
After the warm soapy wash 'n' scrub...
Did you thoroughly rinse the part in cold water after scrubbing???
Sometimes detergent residue left too dry on the part can cause exactly what you describe. It's happened to me!!!

I did rinse it, but clearly not good enough. But i've painted the rest of the camo scheme now. I have uploaded some new pics right after i finished cleaning.. The white stuff is some of the putty that i used to maskmit.. Since the paint was still a little wet i couldn't get all of it off, too afraid i would damage the paint or get fingerprints on it

And now: the wheels and tracks. I'll paint the tracks. And i'll have to ask the Panzer God not to break anything when i mount the tracks 🙂

Ah, the old but really nice Matchbox kit. I built it as a kid n' remember it as a good kit. A little stiff tracks but a good kit.

Yes, it is a great little kit. I don't have much time for building & painting. The only thing that i don't like are the tracks. They look like the tracks my toy M-10 tank destroyer that i had as a kid..

All the wheels are painted now.. Next time i buy a german Panzer, it will be one with steel wheels..

nice, thats might be my kit for the machtchbox groupbuild...

have you considered using stencils/masks? Spray the weels black, use something like this [img1] (can also be selfmade) and cover the rubber part withit, then you can spray the inner Color... easy isn´t it? 😉

ok, thats something differet, but it could have been worse... a Pz IV for example 😉

Bah, it could always be a Churchill...

The Churchill is probably the worst. No way of hiding imperfections in the paint to hide behind wheels like with for example a King Tiger

I got the tracks mounted without much of a struggle. Just a bit of warm water and some stretching.
