Nice build so far. Will you go for the egyptian one, or in russian green?

Thanks Bart 🙂. I'm definitely leaning toward green, probably during the Hungarian uprising of 1956, to go with my PT-76 (PT-76, Budapest, 1956 | Album by Gbmodeler (1:35))

Built this kit, no big issues with it nice work so far.
Is it was in Hungary in '56? I didn't see it any of the archive pictures but I could be wrong.

Shame on you Gabor, now you have to do, what the driver of your Valentine has to do, if he looses any boxes- 50 pushups 😛 😄 😄

After 40 I collapse on the floor and don't move for a few minutes. 🙂
What will happen after 50? My hands will shake for all my life and than I won't be able to build anything except lego. 😄

No push-ups Gabor! We'd rather see you modeling than snapping Legos together... 🙂

Lego? Too easy, punishment should building a Death Star from toothpicks - NO GLUE ALLOWED!

Gabor, any particular tricks filling such tight gaps with superglue? i know the glue is runny but the initial contact area and stain of the glue is usually larger and wider than such gaps which makes it too risky to use CA (for me obviously)...

Thanks George🙂
Murad.
I usually use a toothpick when working with CA. I cut away a bit from the tip than it wont be pointy and that will allow me to get a small amount of glue on it for precise works. After I got the glue where I want it I quickly wipe away the excess with my finger. But to fill tight gaps I would suggest the good old filler. I just push the filler in to the gap with my finger or toothpick and after it's dry you can do what you normally do. 🙂

As I can see you did a great job using CA.

Thank you Gabor, i guess the gaps George's marked filled at the 4th picture weren't really tight then since the mention cornstarch as filler? to my knowledge starch or carbonate is used to accelerate the curing time of the CA, no?

I have no idea about accelerating CA cure. I onky use that stuff because I have to. 🙂 Sorry.

I like mixing CA with cornstarch to make a slurry or paste for a filler. It dries fast and files and sands pretty well (although it is often a little harder than the surrounding plastic). You can control how runny it gets by adjusting how much cornstarch you add. It's especially good for wide or deep gaps, or to "build-up" low areas (like ejector pin marks, or to make parts thicker). Although it dries quickly, it carves very easily while it's drying (if you time it right). It takes a little practice...

I also use small stripes of steryne. Place it near the gap than add glue waint a bit until the glue start to soften the plastic than with something small or pointy just push it into the gap. Add more glue until it's really start to 'melt' than push it in depper if needed. Wait until dry and it is like the normal plastic. Hope it was understandeble. 🙂

In the trenches
Russian armour some of my favourites, this looks like the Tamiya kit, I am doing same, was there a winter painting scheme, white wash over green (as I like that one), the fuel tank lines are a really great addition, adds a lot of maturity to the model

Really nice George. I especially like slide 15. Shows the change in colour on the panels, the detail that was added and the really clean paint job and washing. 👍

Thanks Mates! 🙂 Except for having to deal with the gaps in the turret halves, this is a really good kit. Want to get the JS-4 and 7 🙂
