Jamie the F-35 is a 1/1 scale plastic display model with lots of working electronics in it just under the main wheels is a petrol generator! It was flown into the airshow in the RAAF C-17. The first RAAF F-35 are being built now. Welsh models do a E-7 Wedgetail 1/72 scale with RAAF markings vac-form fuselarge everything else wings, engines etc is done in resin. Very nice kit i have one along with the P-8 and other B-737 types.

The 1/72 scale E-7 and B-737 kits cost around $150-$200 each! There is also a 1/144 scale conversion from Hawkeye models for the E-7 use a Academy B-737 kit.

thanks for the info glenn will wait and see if someone makes an injection kit of the wedgetail in1:72 scale

O.K. good luck with that! There is an early generation B737 and a T-43 from Big Plane Kits fully injection moulded (Good kits) or the Aurora/Monogram B737 from the mid 60's but i'd stay away from that it's very old and basic! REVELL TAKE NOTE! Please scale up your airliner range from 1/144 to 1/72!!!! They would sell very well 🙂

I agree glen I would love to personally see proper injection molded 1:72 scale of a c-5 galaxy and c-17 would buy those in an instant

glad you agree glenn we should start a modelling campaign to get these big kits made

@Jamie, I think you will be waiting a LONG time for an injected Wedgetail kit. Unless BPK do a NG 737 in the future and then use the parts from the current Wedgetail kit.

Hi Michael, Lucky the cloud stayed a bright white color and didn't get dark i overexposed these downsized uploads a bit to keep them light the original shots look much clearer these look fuzzy... There's more to come in part 2!!! 🙂 when i downsize them.... 🙁

I am really impressed with you pics Glen. I remember going to the Bi-Centennial air show at Richmond in 86, but there were no digital cameras around then and all I had was Kodak slide film and, because it was so expensive, I was severely restricted in how much I could photograph. and I was extremely disappointed that the A-10 didn't show like they said it would. Our "Tiger" looks quite lethal !!! nice journey, thanks mate 🙂

Thanks John. That's the last airshow I've been too! I'm hoping later this year i can get to the Avalon airshow to celebrate the 100 years of the RAAF. If there's no lockdown? Who knows? Cheers!
