Cockpit floor and bulkhead started, awaiting some tools to do some cutting on the fueslage sides for windows.

Augie
Simple one today, fold the door channels with only 3 rulers...
26 April 2020, 19:13
Donald Dickson II
Oooo, thats a narrow piece of PE to bend...
26 April 2020, 19:44
Augie
Yeah, need 4 hands when doing it with 3 rulers but got it done.. one more to do
26 April 2020, 20:28
Augie
Ahh the fun of cutting 2 ruddy great holes in the side so the window will fit..
Have a nasty suspicion, I have to do one on the other side as well.
28 April 2020, 19:04
Augie

Augie
Lol, nope, just thick skin from years of scalpel use lol 🙂

Yeah they were not cut.. but the plastic is soft.

David.. the fit is about what you'd expect from a short run kit

1) No locating pins
2) Fit requires fettleing of parts before gluing.. clamps are not an option but a necessity
3) Decals are out of register
4) Resin is good, but pour gates are not well thought out.
5) The mesh grill over the intake, not provided, given a shitty representation of a canvas cover.
6) I'm sure theres more.. will add as I find em.

OK, so I am going to show my ignorance. What in the bloody hell does not in register mean??? All I can think is why would a cash register be related to decals?

Hey Don,

So i've uploaded a picture which is a good example. If you look theres a white line under the red rings, the yellow and when you look at the yellow lines, there is a white "Shadow" Thats where when the decals were screen printed, the paper shifted when the yellow colour was done, meaning it was slightly off from the white "base" that good decals usually have to stop the underlying colour from bleeding through.

Aha! That makes sense now! I always just read it and was like, OK, not in register. They have an issue with them. In register, no problems. LOL Just never knew what the issue might be. Thank you for clearing that up for me! 🙂

Hey Roland,

Nope no alternative as yet, not even any aftermarket decals for this, which I am actually surprised about to be honest.

Augie
Oh it gets soo much worse than that... I need to work out how to make it look like a wessex and not a H34 with a strapon nose...
6 May 2020, 15:51
Augie
Plus need some small rivets.. larger rivets.. party pack of lead foil.. so its on hold while I source the wonderment of additional items needed.

David Taylor
Do you think it's a scaled up Revell wessex which is just awful.Took me ages to make an approx wessex with scratch and aftermarket.Bought a couple just for weapon pylons then somebody from Shapeways brought some 3D out.LOL
6 May 2020, 17:32
Augie
I dont think it is, its almost like they tried to outdo Italeri in the shit stakes..
6 May 2020, 18:52
David Taylor
By the sounds of it they won.
7 May 2020, 14:53
Augie
