Melf Boyens Haha, GOTY OU! Clean bowled and you are out to build the kit, maybe we send you a weekly reminder on the progress? Hey, Progress (Прогресс) , a nice word joke in Russian spacecraft technology!

Roger Trewenack Thanks for all your enthusiasm - Melf, you will have to enlighten me on the word joke "progress"?

Choppa Nutta "Progress" was the name of the supply vessels servicing the MIR Space Station that used an autopilot for docking procedures, but was expensive to make for a disposable vehicle.

it was used in tests to use a camera assisted pilot guided system which was cheaper to make, given the throwaway nature of these "Progress" vessels.

Two tests were taken both failed, the first flew by harmlessly the second collided causing air leaks and power failures, something of a disaster but no one died happily :)

More on it here with footage of the collision :)
