More details added (rivets, bolts, reject parts). Especially the rocket launcher looked a bit naked .I think it is a field-modified cooling.
15 March 2017, 15:36
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
Used liquid Green stuff as casting texture.
15 March 2017, 15:40
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
Primer sprayed Vallejo plus Russian Green. Sealed with matt Varnish.A layer with Worn Effects.Sprayed Iraqi Sand.Moisten with water and lets go!

16 March 2017, 17:40
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
After the chipping I will again apply a layer of Worn Effects. Then the highlights and shadows apply and continue chipping.
16 March 2017, 17:44
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
Even more chipping. It is time-consuming but worth the effort. I would like a quite taken-away vehicle that already has some operations behind it.
17 March 2017, 10:27
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
But most of the chipping will affect the legs and the trunk. Up there will be less.
17 March 2017, 10:28
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
The Helmet in pic 2 has not such intense chipping(down right)
17 March 2017, 10:31
Bart Goesaert
nice work so far, what is the size of this beast?
17 March 2017, 11:10
Holger Kranich
"Used liquid Green stuff as casting texture" Now thats a nice idea!
17 March 2017, 13:10
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
@Bart
The Beast is about 15 cm high.
@Holger
Just stipple it with a brush
18 March 2017, 15:05
Holger Kranich
Hat das hier eigentlich was mit M.a.K. zu tun, oder ist das ne eigene Serie? Sieht cool aus!
19 March 2017, 15:39
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
This Mech is from a Sega Megadrive game. So do not have anything to do with Ma.k. But it is a good base for many other INSERT AREAS. In the future I will go more to the sci fi / mech model building.
19 March 2017, 17:19
Bart Goesaert
only 15cm? that some big disappointment in a way... Considering the scale, the size of the 1/72 Macross kits and the pricetag I thought it would be bigger....
20 March 2017, 07:55
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
You can not compare a 1/72 Macross kit with a 1/35 kit.Self of the 1/60 Tomahawk is only 20 cm tall.Imagine that in 1/35 before? The Leynos corresponds to its size more the Dust Models in 1 / 35.From size ratio so very "Lifelike".In contrary to a Macross Mech.

nice chipping and weathering so far. Was the skull with baret included as a decal?
18 April 2017, 07:51
Wilfried Bogaerts
Nice one Markus, don't know what it is but the wear and tear certainly looks realistic to me! 👍
18 April 2017, 13:46
Michael Hickey
Nice, I like it a lot.👍👍👍
18 April 2017, 14:19
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
Thank you, Mates. Your opinion means to me very much. There are no decals with the kit. These come from Echolon and are for a M1 Abrams tank unit /Irak.
Super thin the decals.
The chipping and oil paint rendering are time-intensive processes. I would also like to build the ruin for the diorama itself and the figures must also still. So completion 2026 🙂
18 April 2017, 16:49
Murad ÖZER
top notch paintjob and wx. big huge respect Markus, hopefully we'll see the end of it before 2026 tho 😄

Thank you very much,Lex.
More OPR is done .Pics will follow.Next after OPR is dust weathering on the lower legs.
29 April 2017, 11:43
Murad ÖZER
Markus watching this with amazement, please don't finish! 😄 as for OPR what is your preferred thinner? i am having problems regular with odorless turpentine and talens' white spirit #89 here, instead of thinning they are simply dissolving the pigments in oil paints (w&n, georgian etc nothing cheapo) leaving weird specks behind when dry.
29 April 2017, 11:59
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
Hi Murad.
Thanks Mate,l appreciate that.Slow progress. 🙂
I use Mig Odourless Thinner. But I use it very sparingly. When I clean the brush or make corrections, then I dry the brush as far as it is as good as dry. On my hand, the brush leaves no more moisture but for the correction or fading it is enough.
29 April 2017, 12:31
Lex Jassies
Murad, do you use the odorless turpentine from Winsor & Newton? I don't have any problems using this brand thinner with the oil paints I use (Winsor & Newton, Talens and Abteilung). It's also cheaper then MIG 😉
29 April 2017, 17:51
Murad ÖZER
@Lex , using art store generic variety odorless turpentine.
might be the technique, if i'm getting Markus right, he's not even thinning the oils - applying directly and blending on the surface with a barely wet brush...?
29 April 2017, 18:05
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
Yepp Murad, thats right.I paint the Detail and blend it with a flat brush in a stippelin motion.
29 April 2017, 18:22
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
Some new progress Pics from 24.
Pic 27 are shoulder Parts with and without OPR.
29 April 2017, 18:31
Murad ÖZER
crackled paintjob in that one is a genius.
29 April 2017, 18:41
Markus Kutsch The Plastic Bench
Thanks Murad.
This was not so planned. 🙂 There are places where the color is smooth. It has to do with the thickness of the paint application and the chipping medium in connection with the quantity of water which I have applied. But for a vehicle that already some time under such harsh climatic conditions(dust, humidity, heat), this is a nice effect
29 April 2017, 19:08
Lex Jassies
Looks so good!
