almost done with the construction of this little ship. Just a few details and hopefully I can steal some time to paint this one... Would it be better to place the exhaust tubing along the hull before or after painting?

thx... first coat on... it should be light grey green, but I think it's too green

ready to start detailed painting. Also formed the screws, these look a lot better then the flat PE.

Is it better to weather the hull first and then try to make the exhaust rusty, or doesn't it matter?

I'm far from being an expert in such matters, but I would do the exhaust first. The theory being – in reality, even though the exhaust is rusty, it would also be weathered.

too much for the exhaust? Can't find reference pictures, but a complete rusty exhaust didn't seem plausible, although most modelers seem to paint it like that. Tried to replicate rust where it should be difficult to paint properly during maintenance or where there's possibility for a lot of saltspray/heat build-up
