Started with a base of yellow ochre (vallejo) then a thin layer of raw sienna oil paint, then some blotches van dijcke brown/burnt umber that was smeared open. With a stiff wide brush I made the base structure (straight lines. with a softer wide brush (turned 90° to work with the small side I made some waves in it. Then with a fine round brush i reworked/detailed the nuts in the wood and lastly I applied some darker spots with oilpaint in the middle to simulate the nut...

Album info

My first attempt at painting some woodgrain, still not really satisfied, but it looks better then before. I tried to follow this guide: agapemodels.com/2009..mulating-wood-grain/

wonder what your comments are about this.
