Hi Scalemates. I made a little progress again on the Mirage.
I ordered a metal pitot tube with Master Models in Poland, that's really an improvement ! I also made some corrections on the front landing gear and I added some detals to the canopy. When I tested the position of the large fuel tanks on the underside of the wings, it appeared that the original wholes for the pylons were too close to the main landing gear doors. It's a matter of millimeters only, but it just didn't fit. The fuel tanks couldn't be mounted. So had to fill the original wholes and drill other ones, and make the appropriate attachments to the fuel tanks. I still have to fine tune this correction so it will be invisible afterwards.
Thanks for your comments Jozua and Jose. Sorry it took so long, I was not on scalemates for some weeks. This model kit looks great after all the work, but I fully agree : a decent Mirage III/V in 1/32 would be more than welcome ! This piece of work is a one shot in a lifetime ... never again !!

@ Jose Miguel ... indeed, it 's just a hobby, and I have a lot of patience. But all those comments give me the courage to continue.
@ Günther ... I can give you some tips. And you can find resin update sets now. I would consider to buy some if I were you ... 😉
@ Ole. Thanks It looks relatively nice now, but it took a lot of time to create my own "updates". Of course you can always do better, but I am happy with the result so far.

Hello Günther. You can use some of the Mirage III upgrades, like the wheel bays from E-resin, the cockpit set from Fisher Model & Pattern (not accurate but closer to the real thing than what you have in the box), and certainly the engine and nozzle from Matterhorn Circle. You can find it all on the internet. You will have to create some of the details yourself such as the brake chute housing and ECM sensors on the tail, chaff dispenser, tail hook, large fuel tanks, vents in the fuselage, landing gear, etc, etc. A lot of fun ! 😉
