18. August 2015 at 23:14:14
18. August 2015 at 23:24:43
Siehe hier: scalemodeltrophy.eu/category_a4.htm
18. August 2015 at 23:32:19
18. August 2015 at 23:54:20
Thomas Schneider Hi Leute! Also erstmal an Christian: Herzlich Willkommen beim Wettbewerb!
19. August 2015 at 00:13:43
Christian Meyerhoff Danke Dir Thomas!
19. August 2015 at 00:22:21
Freue mich drauf ! :)
19. August 2015 at 08:58:27
Martien Lourens interesting subject, Christian.
19. August 2015 at 09:09:37
Christian Meyerhoff Genau, der Wal aus der Tüte... :) Thank You all for Your interest.
19. August 2015 at 09:32:45
LOL
19. August 2015 at 10:36:57
19. August 2015 at 11:45:44
Christian Meyerhoff Some small progress.
20. August 2015 at 15:33:40
Hanno Kleinecke Welche Version wird es denn werden Christian ? Hoffentlich der Grönland- Wal ?
20. August 2015 at 19:26:44
20. August 2015 at 23:31:31
21. August 2015 at 08:25:43
21. August 2015 at 11:19:34
Holger Kranich Na los Christian, dann lass uns investieren!
21. August 2015 at 11:56:01
Hanno Kleinecke Ich möchte die Kundennummer 1 bitte ! :)
21. August 2015 at 12:03:16
Holger Kranich Bekommst dann auch ´ne goldene Kundenkarte, Hanno! ;)
21. August 2015 at 13:03:36
Hanno Kleinecke Yippieh ! :D
21. August 2015 at 14:23:41
21. August 2015 at 14:49:06
Mal gucken wo man ne Spritzgußmaschine herbekommt... Amazon? E-Bay? :D
21. August 2015 at 14:56:16
21. August 2015 at 15:03:43
Holger Kranich Oder mach mir X Stück, dann darfst Du die Form ein Jahr benutzen.
21. August 2015 at 15:04:46
21. August 2015 at 16:00:37
Christian Meyerhoff Ok, Ok!
21. August 2015 at 21:30:59
Christian Meyerhoff Some small progress. The main components are finished. No trouble so far. The fit of this kit is excellent.
03. September 2015 at 20:25:38
03. September 2015 at 20:30:17
Christian Meyerhoff Danke Dir Sven ! Der Wal ist wirklich interessant.
Schau mal hier: Youtube Video

03. September 2015 at 20:47:49
Roland Sachsenhofer Most interesting Christian, I am excited about your choice! The "Wal" is an enigmatic flying boat- your modelling skills will turn out into another masterpiece!
01. November 2015 at 07:13:03
Christian Meyerhoff Thank You Roland. I`m still waiting for my new decal sheet from Peddinghaus. Than this build will continue.
01. November 2015 at 10:09:23
Christian Meyerhoff Good news... :) Today I got my new decal sheet from decals.guenstigergeht.net/ As always it looks perfect. So this build will continue by next weekend.
04. November 2015 at 20:13:13
Stéphane Guerréro A very nice bird!!!
10. November 2015 at 21:35:42
Christian Meyerhoff Many Thanks Stephane! I like Huma kits a lot and with the new decal sheet I can complete this one as well. :)
10. November 2015 at 21:40:27
Christian Meyerhoff Made some good progress on my Wale. Time to paint this one. :)
13. November 2015 at 17:26:49
Gordon Sørensen Looking good so far!
13. November 2015 at 19:56:15
Chris Parsons what he said!
14. November 2015 at 04:52:56
Christian Meyerhoff Time to paint. As usual I use Humbrol paints fot this one.
15. November 2015 at 19:28:55
Roland Sachsenhofer That´s a real cool project- and it´s looking quite good! I am really keen to see more progress pics.
Will be interesting to see how you get these highly attractive red outlines on the hull´s surface
15. November 2015 at 19:47:53
Christian Meyerhoff Many thanks Roland! There will be no red outlines, because I think that they are wrong. I stressed the internet for pictures and videos, but could not find any source which show these lines. Huma wants You to paint the lower fuselage and wings in silver, but I don't believe this. If there is anybody out there who has any additional information about the paint job of a Wale, most welcome :)
15. November 2015 at 19:58:19
16. November 2015 at 21:20:25
Christian Meyerhoff Started with the decals on the wings. These decals from Peddinghaus work excellent.

Christian, I have sent you this link because it covers just about all know aircraft and their service manuals, and there might just be some information there for you.
16. November 2015 at 21:24:38
Christian Meyerhoff Thanks Kerry! I like that! :)
16. November 2015 at 21:33:49
16. November 2015 at 21:54:28
Christian Meyerhoff Todays progress. Painted the engine details with black oil paint and did a little weathering.
17. November 2015 at 20:26:11
Thomas Bischoff top! I love it
17. November 2015 at 21:46:55
Christian Meyerhoff Thank You Thomas! It`s a nice kit!
17. November 2015 at 21:48:41
Thomas Bischoff The Dornier Wal is one of my favourite planes - maybe I should looking for a kit myself ...
17. November 2015 at 21:53:39
17. November 2015 at 21:55:56
Christian Meyerhoff @ Thomas: If You see one, grab it! They are hard to get. The fit of the parts is okay, only minor issues to deal with. The worst thing are the decals. They are useless due to their age. But there is Mr. Peddinghaus who created a new sheet for me and everybody else as well. :)

@ Marcel: Danke!
17. November 2015 at 22:07:21
17. November 2015 at 22:14:58
Clifford Keesler Great One.
18. November 2015 at 02:09:46
Christian Meyerhoff Many thanks Clifford!

18. November 2015 at 07:16:54
Martin R. Wow, this is basically one of my favorite all-time airplanes! I wasn't even aware that there is a kit available!
18. November 2015 at 15:17:26
Christian Meyerhoff Many thanks Martin! This kit is from the German Company Huma, which does not exist anymore. Meanwhile it`s rather hard to get one.
18. November 2015 at 15:32:55
Christian Meyerhoff Today`s progress. Dipped the canopie into Future and masked it with Tamiya Tape. Glued the canopie in place. Time to finish the paint job on the fuselage.
18. November 2015 at 20:54:32
Christian Bruer Very nice work Christian!
19. November 2015 at 20:29:30
Christian Meyerhoff Thanks Christian! I try to finish this one by Sunday.
19. November 2015 at 20:36:51
Christian Bruer Will take a look ;)
19. November 2015 at 20:39:27
Christian Meyerhoff No promisses, I will try :)
19. November 2015 at 20:41:01
Christian Meyerhoff Today`s progress. Wings and fuselage united. I think that I can finish this one tomorrow.
21. November 2015 at 20:49:19

Marcel Klemmer Glückwunsch das schaut gut aus :)
22. November 2015 at 18:13:36
Hanno Kleinecke Boohoo, I'm jealous !!! Wonderful work Christian, nice and gently weathered. I will continue to look out for one like that, maybe one fine day....... :)
22. November 2015 at 18:51:26
Ricardo Gonzalez Ramos Hi Christian, well done! Nice build!
22. November 2015 at 19:03:59

22. November 2015 at 19:39:01
Holger Kranich Absolute great, Christian! You can be proud of your work!
22. November 2015 at 19:46:56
Christian Meyerhoff Many thanks Holger! It's another great kit from Huma which no other manufacturer provides since today. Maybe the people from Special Hobby get aware of this great subject. ;)
22. November 2015 at 19:58:26
Vittorio Gentili Beautiful!
22. November 2015 at 20:38:38
Christian Meyerhoff Many thanks Vittorio! :)
22. November 2015 at 20:44:11
Roland Sachsenhofer You did a marvellious and inspiring work, Christian! I am really enjoying these pictures and your skill....
And, as some other folk here, you have infected me with the "Wal-Virus"- thank you for that! :)
22. November 2015 at 21:29:07
Hanno Kleinecke Ain't no medication available for this desease, that's for sure....... :D
22. November 2015 at 21:31:32
Christian Meyerhoff ;) So many wishes.. but only a few kits around... :) THANK YOU !!!

Take a look at this please:
amazon.de/gp/product/3613014..r_1_2&s=books&sr=1-2
It was a good reference.
22. November 2015 at 21:37:18
Kerry Cox What a wonderful sight that aircraft would be today mate. :)
As how you have presented it now is a most impressive effort on your part. .
Congratulations Christian. :)
22. November 2015 at 21:46:47
22. November 2015 at 21:48:06
Martin R. Congratulations! A beautiful plane and a beautiful model! Also nicely documented from start to finish!

My experience with the Wal date back a few years and were 100% virtual when I "made" a whale for the flight sim X-Plane. Here's a link into the past forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=5146 Some model company should have mercy and release a new Wal...
23. November 2015 at 19:13:11
Stéphane Guerréro Hi Christian, very nice flying boat! I love it!
23. November 2015 at 19:54:31
Christian Meyerhoff Many thanks mates!
@ Martin: You are right, it`s time for a new whale! :)
23. November 2015 at 20:20:52
Martin R. Maybe an idea for a new Scalemates feature: the Most Wanted list? With enough votes for a particular subject, maybe some kit producer steps up to make iit?
24. November 2015 at 17:51:28
Chris Parsons Nicely done! What project is next?
24. November 2015 at 18:30:21
Christian Meyerhoff Many thanks Chris! Next project? Please take a look at my albums here on SCM and You will know on what subjects I`m working. But the very next model I want to complete is my UHU for the Groupbuild. I spent so much hours on this one, so it`s time to finish it.
24. November 2015 at 20:18:36
Christian Meyerhoff @ Martin: That`s a good idea! A wishlist would be great!
24. November 2015 at 21:32:35
24. November 2015 at 21:38:52
