Christian BruerSo far as I know there is no other Skyraider available in scale 144 than the F-Toys kit. The kit is pre painted and comes as a snap together kit. Details are quite nice with fine engraved panel lines. A few are missing, but that doesn't matter in that tiny scale. If you just want to have a model for display on your office desk it seems to be ok to assmble the kit out of box, but if you want to have it accurate and more detailed this is a good basis to do so.
I start repainting the cokcpit and assembled the fuselage halves. All seam lines were filled and sanded. Filling and sanding was required also along the wing and fuselage joints.
To present the Skyraider in a dynamic carrier landing szene I cut out the flaps and rudder and assembled both in angled position.
This all went on quite fast and so I was able to paint the model during the weekend.

Nah there were others before me with such deck sections etc. But it is a cool idea to design and produce such elements, especially for this scale. So everybody has the chance to use it as a display for his models, because not everybody has the skill and / or patience to make it by his own. I also think, that 3D printing will make more and more steps forward and it would be also great just to by the 3D data, maybe to modify by the designer, or your own, and then to print on your printer. Even better for everybody who want to step into 3D design and 3D printing by his own.
IMHO a big market for the future in different ways but with a great advantage for us model builders.
