Trafalger class sub - detailwork
I have build the main parts for a while and did some paint work from time to time during the last weeks. At the moment I?m working on small details and the Jetty. I used styrene and Tom's Modelwork PE "US Carrier Catwalks" to build the gangways. The PE grid for the Jetty in the center is from L'Arsenal
What can I say, another great looking diorama in the making... again full of inspiring images and styrene wonders
Another project still on the workbench, HMS Trafalger. All the parts got a coat of paint and are ready for a weathering and highlighting now. My Diorama projects were on hold until last month because I got new bases for my displays. Now I use a wooden frame with a insert made from MDF (particle board) coated with a thin plastic layer. I arranged the parts finally to prepare working on the water base. Note the subs scratch build hatch. It is a bit of guess work and looks a little bit like a toilet lid
That looks brilliant. Looking forward to see the finished diorama. By the way: how is the kit? I planed to buy it but I want to hear some feeedback about it.
Hi Duncan, thanx for looking at it. The kit is nice and easy to build. The only thing I missed is the tiled surface structure. At first I thought to angrave or to paint the structure, but than I left it like it is because you can't see it from a normal distance.
Thank you for the information. Looks like Airfix has changed.
Coming along great guns Christian, great SUBject as well ... Sorry another bad Steve pun!!! Hope you don't HARBOUR any bad thoughts towards me, and you supPORT my good intentions... Once again sorry!!!
Hi, @Duncan, the new Airfix kits aren't bad ones. They lack a bit in detail but they are not bad. I really like Airfix 1/48 scale Supermarine Seafire Mk 46 / 47! @Steve, you're welocme Cheers, Christian
