Kim, Sören, Vorya,
thanks for your positve comments.

Yeap, Kim, the "interesting" Norwegian "SPLINTER" camo had aroused my interest years ago, when I read an article of a Norwegian Leopard 1 in the AFV modellers magazine.

I liked the look of this unusual camo!

The Norwegian crew members will be an other challenge.

Does anyone of the scale modeler menbers can give me advice what figures would fit best for Norwegian soldiers!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Neil,

thanks for your comment.

Neil, when assigned to the ARRC and later on at Afghanistan to CJTF-76 at Bagram AB I learned of this custom and I must admit that I admired it.

Germany is a wasteland in terms of traditions and military-dominated culture of remembrance. Anything military has negative connotations in Germany.
Germany is celebrating the "Volkstrauertag" on the third Sunday in November, equivalent to the rememberance day.
Nobody in Germany is showing his remembrance as it is custom in UK and the Commonwealth. As I learned of your customs I started to wear the poppy the days before and on remembrance day, even some people here in Germany behave some sort of strange!

I don't care. As an Afghanistan Veteran I learned to appreciate the comradeship of my international comrade-in-arms! And this is my way to say THANK YOU!

Cheers

Hauke

there nothing strange in that mate. I do a lot of touring in Europe visiting war memorials and cemetrys and I visit all nationallities sites. There are some sombre German cemetrys out there mate, respect to all soldiers

Neil,

your statement is absolutely correct!
RESPECT TO ALL SOLDIERS WHO DIED FOR THEIR COUNTRY.

As the Brits say:

Right or wrong,

my country!

The Norwegian Splintercamo looks very much like the Swedish Camo.

Markus, thanks for your positive reply.
Sören, yeap, I am aware of it. The Swedish splinter camo looks exactly like the Norwegian one. Even the colors are the same.
I would like to build a Strv 104. Let's hope that Bronco or Hobby Boss will release one in the future, as the Hobby Fan conversion is quit expensive!
Duncan, thank you very much for your comment. I see that you grapped what I would like to state.

As a new member on this site I was surfing for anything "Norwegian" and found your very nice M48A5. For others who want to model this type it might be of interest to know that the searchlight was never used by the Nor Army. Norway only had 14 M48A5s. One platoon was manned by conscripts and the two other by reserve troops.

Erik, thanks for your advice! Sometimes I'm a dummy!!! As the M48A5 had the TTS sight, the AN/VVS 1 searchlight was obsolete!!
