Dank dank, ich werd noch ein paar Bilder von der Oberseite posten, da kann man sehen das mir das Spachteln nicht ganz gelungen ist, aber es passt schon...;)

Lets take a look on top...

Looking very nice so far. How is the kit? I have a Hasegawa Fw 190 in my stash, but it needs quite a bit of aftermarket.

Holger Kranich
Thx guy´s!!! The kit is not bad, so far! It has very nice details. The only thing i dont like are the gaps between the fuselage and the wings. Its very difficult to fill and sand there. I like a lot the detail of the little bolts on the wings that mark the pilot that the gear is out. A harness is important to assemble and the clearparts dont deserve their name...

Is the 190 so small, or is your palm toooo big ? 🙂

Welcome to Braille Scale! Guaranteed to improve your eyesight or drive you blind.

Regarding the gap between the wing and fuselage - have you ever tried filling with wall repair plaster (in the US we call it spackle)? You don't sand it to smooth it out, you just use a damp cloth. Takes just a couple of seconds and you don't lose any detail off of the surrounding plastic. I use it all the time for tough areas like that.

Holger Kranich
Hi Bill, nice idea, didnt thought about that!
And Aghis, yes it is that small! I sometimes thought that i´m building 144 scale in this case 🙂

Now decaling had an end and it was horrible to add the VERY small stencils to the plane. So today i have the pleasure to make one of my favorite steps in modeling: Weathering with the wash! 🙂🙂🙂

Starting to look pretty good.

Nice video. Why is it always a 109? I'm beginning to think that IPMS stands for International Plastic Messerschmidt Society! 🙂

Joe Kozak
Holger, I'm used to parts as big as the entire model..Beautiful work but to small for me.. Joe

In the video they're using Mr. Surfacer, right? Even with Mr. Surfacer 500, it would be very difficult to fill a big gap. I've found that Mr. Surfacer (all I use is 500) sags as it dries, which is why it is so difficult to fill a large gap. Has anyone else had that experience? With the wall repair plaster, you can fill a huge gap. However, its surface won't be super smooth after "sanding" with a wet cloth. It will look porous. I prime it, then overcoat with Mr. Surfacer to fill in all the little pinholes.

Bill, this tip even works with putty, just rub a little longer, since I saw this I don't sand my putty anymor

Thanks for the hints and comments, guys, i appreciate it a lot! You all help me to improve my skills and im very thankful for that! You are all a bunch of brave men! 😉

Finnish looks good yet; I still have these markings from the Tamiya kit; I´ll use them when I eventually build one of my two Trimaster kits

nice camouflage scheme and finish. Did you use the vallejo air colors? how to work with them?
5 December 2011, 12:03
Holger Kranich
@Phil Yes the next one is waiting but i cant decide! Tornado or Eurofighter? Another WWII aircraft? Or a 1:35 Tank? I´ve got many questions and many boxes at home but i´m not sure what the next one will become!

@Christian I worked with all you see on the last pic. The Vallejo´s came from a RLM-Set and they are very nice to work with. They dry very fast in nearby seconds and the tones seem accurate to me! But the right RLM-Tone is an old question under modelers and will maybe never get solved. I like a lot that you can take them direct from the bottle. Just shake them well and spit it in you airbrush! If needed they are good to dillute with water. Great coloures, i love them but they do not smell as nice as Tamiya´s;)🙂

Philip De Keyser
I wish you good luck with your next dicision, that's always a difficult one, greetings Phil
5 December 2011, 13:12
Holger Kranich
Thx Phil, i will need it!🙂
5 December 2011, 14:22
Zimmermaniac
Looks great Holger, and indeed, Vallejo works good, but with some exeptions such as the light colors. About accuracy, al lot has been said on the www, I don't care a f..k about it, I spray from the can, long as I'm happy with it it satisfies me
5 December 2011, 14:23
Holger Kranich
Thx, Zimmi, thats absolutely what i´m talking about. If the tones fit good together and i like the result, i dont care about other opinions.!
5 December 2011, 14:27
Aghis Barberopoulos
It is good to have fun making a kit. It looks like Holger enjoyed this one! Surely makes me wanna make a little one 😉
5 December 2011, 16:22
Christian Lehmann
@ Holger: thanks for sharing your experience with these colors; I bought some at an exibition last year but did not use them yet because my output is not so much ( 1 to 2 completed kits per year)
5 December 2011, 17:20
Urban Gardini
I like this build mate! The camo would fit one of my Tamiya A-3's perfect n' your build will be an inspiration for me when it comes for me to build a Würger...

Holger Kranich
Thank you-Dankeschön!;)

Yes Luca, he loves planes but he still playes rough with them!;)

Album info

Mediterranean Camo in RLM76, 79 and 80
I enjoyed building this lil beast a lot! The only problem where the gaps between wings and fuselage and the correct angles of the main gear. Revell did a great job at all but now i´m at least through with such small scales.
