Jet Provost T.3 double build
Parallel build of Airfix' recent Jet Provost. Although one is the T.4 boxing, both will be T.3 at the end. Both will get the kit decals from AX02103: One will be aircraft grey/ dayglo from No.2 FTS at RAF Gaydon, the other will be red/white from No. 1 FTS at RAF Linton-on-Ouse.
Very nice job on your cockpit! I wish I had seen yours before I finished mine, I could have copied! Ha ha!
Nice so far, check your reference as you have a pic of T5 which was heavier.(pressurised cockpit).
@David Taylor, I know. Unfortunately Warpaint only has drawings of T.3 and 4 with retracted gear. But I assume that they have the same tire size.
Nice start! And such a tidy work space!
@Keith: You say that one should avoid the dayglo decals. What's wrong with them?
@Felix: They worked great on the flat surfaces, but are very thick and brittle. I tried every trick I knew but never got them soft enough to bend/conform to the leading edge of the wing. Instead they cracked into small pieces, and color was near impossible to match.
@Keith: Thanks for your warning. Luckily, I have two sheets. I'll try my best with all the chemicals I have.
That I still experience that? Felix is tinkering again.
@Bernhard: Yeah again but worse than ever. Feel that I start from zero again
Never seen the Blufix stuff myself, but watch out whether it doesn't dry inside the box. See my Rocket UV Glue adventure with Caravelle:
