Ludvík Kružík Thank you, Robert. I've only finished the front landing gear leg so far. I started with it because it's the most complicated. Filling the "tubes" on the main landing gear legs will go faster. Compared to the front landing gear, they are almost wiring free.
Building the finished model on a mirror base is a good idea. However, I have a slightly different solution. The model will be placed in my display case of finished models on a glass shelf that is approximately eye level (of an adult). If you lean slightly forward, you can see the bottom of the aircraft with the armament and landing gear due to the glass shelf.
Trez Mackenzie Great kit! I'm wondering how you did such a good job on the antenna wire? How was that amazing engine to put together? The wiring looks complicated and I cannot help but wonder that it must be very difficult to build

Ludvík Kružík Trez, thank you for your praise and interest in my model.
The antenna on this model is made of fishing line (diameter 0,14 mm), glued with CA glue. After gluing, I painted the antenna "wires" with dark steel shade paint. The insulators are marked with a drop of thick white paint. If necessary, after the paint dries, the insulator can be enlarged by adding another drop of thick white paint.
The engine is a separate kit and can be found on Eduard's website under catalog number 648250 and the title Bf 109G-6 1/48 engine and fuselage weapons. The kit also includes a clear instruction sheet. The instructions will safely guide you through the entire engine build step by step. The instructions also include paint shade recommendations for each engine part and instructions for building the engine into the fuselage.
If you already have some experience working with resin accessories and follow the instructions when building the engine, the build is not too complicated. Complete instructions for building the engine are available on Eduard's website: eduard.com/out/media/648250.pdf.
Rando A double delta build! I missed this. How is it putting together the Kitty Hawk? I've heard they're generally kind of notorious to put together. Although I think what would really keep me from building one is how ludicrously expensive they seem now that the company folded.

Kitty Hawk is coming together pretty well. Compared to the Italeri kit, Kitty Hawk is much better to assemble. You can't avoid working with the putty, but it's not a tragedy. It's just minor gaps between some of the parts.
As for the high price of the kit, I got lucky and managed to buy the Gripen on sale for almost half the price.
I'm thinking the same thing. I still have to build a MiG-15. I have the kit, now I'm looking for a color scheme of the machine with some interesting coloring. I also want to add some figures, a tractor driver and possibly some technicians.
bughunter Great work on a nice little kit! Did you use a primer on the resin parts?

I didn't use any primer. The paints are sprayed directly onto the resin. I was worried that multiple layers of paint would cause some of the fine detail to be lost.
The only touch up before spraying the paint was to sand the surface of the model with fine sandpaper (#2000) and wash the entire model with detergent and then dry.
bughunter Complicated scheme and good work!
I tend to avoid decals and try to mask as much as possible. But not hand cut but prepared by drawing with software and let the masks cut.
But such complicated paint on the tail here will need decals.

I was so intrigued by the colour scheme of this glider and the story of its pilot that I decided to go for it as soon as I discovered it. Moreover, a Slovak pilot flew this glider, so my area of interest was filled - machines of Czechoslovak pilots.
As I mentioned, I built the model a few years ago and it was my first attempt at home-made decals and masks. The model is far from perfect, but it still makes me happy.
Ludvík Kružík There are currently no photos of the completed model. I built this model at a time when I didn't pay as much attention to photographing finished models as I do now. 🙁

Ludvík Kružík Glad you like the models. Now I will leave them for a while and will be building a Mi-24 helicopter, but later I will come back to the aircraft from the early days of Czechoslovak aviation.
