@Michael Kohl that"s a "Teal Kandy" tri-coat paint from House of Kolor

omg that paint is amazing pat - im guessing theres a clearcoat on top but can you give a short synopsis of the process you used to get such an immaculate paintjob? Im also guessing you used an airbrush can you get HOK in cans?

Thanks Bobby.
Yes, there's a clearcoat. It's a 2K clearcoat.
This paint is a tri-coat type of paint, which means, besides of the primer, you have to apply 2 different coats of paint. That's a silver base coat, a middle coat (in this case Teal Kandy) and the clear coat.
They are applied using an airbrush. They are automotive lacquers so they use to be painted with a paint gun. I haven't found them in cans, although I'd rather use an airbrush than a can.

thanks for the info Pat - I'm a can guy from my graffiti days, but spraying a wall and spraying a scale model is very different. I don't own an airbrush so I will have to make do. Theres an autoshop where I live, they can make your own auto colour in a spray can so I will try them and see what kind of colour I can find.

Sure! That autoshop should have no problems canning the paint. Maybe even you can bring them your paint for them to can it.
Some people prefer a can over an airbrush, but I'm no good at controlling the paint flow, plus I like to control the amount of thinner in the mix. I've had some issues with cans before 🙂

@Jv, I bought this kit as incomplete really cheap and I had to find wheels, seats (there was only one) and headlights fot it. I 3d printed the headlights and bought a pair of RS seats online. I found the 3d printed wheels from a mate on Facebook and they are spot on.

Also, with the wheels came some 3d printed transparent side indicators, as the one in the kit are decals

This kit is also cheap to buy new I got it today
Along with the 1988 911
Also a cheap tamiya kit
Very simple kits
But at that price I think great value
But butiful cars

The GT2 is a very easy kit. Doesn't have many parts and almost everything fits together nicely.

I opened the boxes and can see why these kits are cheap
But a tamiya kit is always a good kit
And these are affordable
I love the porsche and have got a few of them in 1/24
Also the valiant 1/12 from tamiya
And the 1/16 revell kit
Nice model but nothing like a tamiya kit

Great job, love it! I was wondering how did you do the road version filler cap? Did you use some sort of a stencil? Thanks!

Patrick Sedney
Hi! Thanks, mate!
The filler cap was made using a resin template that came with the wheels
