Thanks mate, much appreciated 👍 I'm honestly always surprised how nice most Tamiya kits turn out OOB... even without fancy filters, streaking, weathering etc. Just the odd Tamiya XF paints and some TLC 😉

Old kit - top build

Thanks Neuling! But "old kit"...? This kit came out when I turned 30 - so basically it is still brand new 😉

this build is a manifestation of the hobby as it used to be in the "old" days when i was younger and as it should always be - having fun!

Neuling
Markus, you are absolutely right: modeling should be fun for the modeler! - Do you think this is not (or less) the case anymore?

Sebastian Meyner
Thanks Markus for the compliment! ....if it actually was one :-D

I do agree with you and Neuling, at least mostly. These days I see so many of us throwing every bit of AM part at a already pricy kit plus put in some scracht building on top of that. Don't get me wrong, the models looks stunning in the end. But it's simply not my cup of tea. I do use AM here and there (if I think the kit needs it) no doubt, however.....having a wife, a daughter, two dogs, a house, a garden and kind of a full time job plus a metric ton of other hobbies, leaves hardly any time to scratch build workable rudder pedals in 1:72 or add two missing bolts behind a drive sprocet 🙂 Besides: I build models, not originals 😉

It looks great. The most important part is not if a rivet is missing, it is if you had fun with it. And I bet you had plenty of it

Nothing to put on top of that 🙂
@Neuling: It used to be more fun when i was a kid - time to build some old models the old fashioned way again, trying to switch of that AM-Mode 😄

Thak you Spanjaard! Yes it certainly was a fun build....at least fir the four days/evenings, it took me to finish the whole project 😉
