As soon as I get a camera I'll post some photos.........I'm spending all of my money on various Vallejo products!!! I do need some advice on the photo etched stuff.......will ask when I am getting near to applying these parts......thanks!

well..............I ordered a camera from Amazon on the 6th..............just laid down the base coat on the panther......that went okay.........now I'm debating on whether or not to hand paint the wheels or try to mask them with a template and airbrush them....
I'll probably end up doing both!!
Then the pics.............I am an idiot with a camera so I'll have to practice a bit with it.......

No problem, James! Take your time and when you are ready, would be nice to see some pix!😢

>>>Holger, I like the choice of a stug for your new project; lots if nice angled pieces to show off details and nooks and crannies for washes???..
I almost went that way for a future build???..
But I am doing the German Model, Russian Model, German Model, Russian Model, etc??..routine and I really wanted to do the SU76.
Then to compare it to a similar
German weapon I am going for the Marder
So???my sequence thus far is: T34/85-Panther-Su 76-Marder?..( I have the Mini Art Su 76 in my possession)
After that will be an assault gun series????tentatively this will be: SU-152-Stug??
Any suggested 1:35 kits for the Marder, SU-152 or the Stug would be appreciated.
I have been leaning towards kits that have a review that is easily accessible within this site???very nice feature??????..
Adios???.highlighting the Panther this afternoon????..

Go for Dragon, you can heardly be dissapointed with the latest realeses. Exept the SU-152, maybe the Tamiya one is better, but needs turned barrel, pe´s, etc. .
Good luck for the highlighting-session with the panther😢!

Hi James, as far as the Marder is concerned, why not giving the Tristar Marder a chance. It'll be a challenge especially for the steering (lots of etching parts), but it will also be a lot of fun!

As far as the SU-152 is concerned I recommend to wait a bit either for the Trumpeter or the Bronco kit. The Trumpeter kit will surely be based on the excellent KV series and I guess, the price will be lower than for the Bronco one. For Bronco the SU-152 is a new area. The first reviews will show.

I heard about the Tristar Marder, but never saw a review, etc. Thx for sharing, Frank!

Great info. guys..........I wonder how long the wait for the Su-152 is? I still have a solid week to put into the Panther........probably another week into painting something like 7 figures............a day or two into throwing together a simple diorama and then a similar routine for the Su-76
Then the Marder.........then The Su-152.....................
I did a crazy diorama for the Dragon 88 which turned out Okay, but I think it detracts from the weapon itself......so I am thinking of keeping my dioramas simple...I want to be able to look at these vehicles and recall all of the victories and heartbreaks I had with them and against them in days of yore playing Cross of Iron, Squad Leader, Panzer Blitz, and later Steel Panthers; the Close Combat Series and Combat Mission

Hi James, on the Trumpeter homepage the SU-152 appears with release date March 2012. So it should be available in Europe soon.

You can have a look at the sprues here: trumpeter-china.com/../2012/0407/2104.html

@ Holger: I am working on the Tristar Marder Ausf H. The PMMS review is spot on! It is a tedious but excellent kit, value for money.

Ja Aghis, now i know, from where i know about the kit!😢

Cool.......the Tristar Marder and the Trumpeter SU-152........sounds like sound advice from gentlemen who certainly know more about this stuff than I !
Ah Frank! Fantastish! I must have that kit!!
This is one of my favorite AFV's....when I employed them in whatever wargame I played, the German infantry would scatter like cockroaches in the cider shed!!

What, they did not have any panzerfaust handy ? 🙂
8 May 2012, 18:38
james johnson
oh yeah plenty of panzerfausts.........but you've got those pesky soviet tank marines to deal with before you can pop your head up for a shot...........
