Tu-16KS

Album image #1
It's hard to understand, but I made the intake vane and engine fan with a 3D printer.

Amodel KS-1 anti-ship missile. I found two so I'm stacking them on both sides. It is very precise and has its own pylon. Decals for Tu-16 (Red24) are included.

Very poor plastic. Start by sanding them.

The cockpit is reproduced with photo-etched parts. I couldn't make the most of everything with my technology. Don't throw away the outer frame as it will become the floorboards!

Various parts such as machine guns, turrets, tires, gear assy, rear observation seat, etc. were produced with a 3D printer. It could have been used as is, but since it's a big deal, I've improved the details.

No holes in the main gear! Make an opening with a saw and create the inside of the main gear. If it was made thinner, it might not have broken after this.

Clear parts are made by vacuum molding 3D output products. This work was done because the transparency of the part was low, but it was better to use it as it is. The shape of the original parts is cool.

My self-made gear assy broke because it was too heavy. This is because lead is added to balance the weight of the fuselage. I don't think so... but if you make this kit, please cut it to the limit.

Exceptional work, that looks like it was a challenging build that involved 3D printing innovation on your part.

Album info

've been working on it since October last year, and it's finally finished. Red wings Tu-16KS (anti-ship attack model). This kit starts from scraping out a very poorly molded resin. Most of the details are expressed with photo-etched parts, and they are very enthusiastic, but unfortunately, the production is so harsh that they cannot be completed while using them.
After making the cockpit, fuselage, and main wing solid, I reproduced the tail turret and the inside of the engine with 3D output products. I couldn't stand it. The stainless steel is embedded, and the details are reproduced with 3D output products and brass.
It was very difficult to understand, but when it was completed, it accurately reproduced the silhouette of the Tu-16, and you can see that it is close to the three-view drawing that was included. Also, while duplicating the canopy, I noticed that Trumpeter used this 1995 kit as a reference. You can see that it imitates the spread of the window frame.
Also, Amodel's KS-1 has a decal that can reproduce the Tu-16 equipped with these! That's how this kit was completed. I would like to complete the Tu-16 with respect to both manufacturers, Red Wings and Amodel.
