John, I think your T-34 looks just great and realistic enough, even as testbed, as you said. Too often people go overboard with the weathering in 1:35 with often unrealistic shading techniques. In my view, as far as you don't have a certain diorama idea or scene for it, your model looks spot on! I personally like it very much!

Hi Marius,

Thanks for the feedback, still very much learning the art of modeling. I am finding that often, less is more when it comes to weathering.

Totally agree with Marius. A great success and I like it a lot. I also like to test things on old kits and a successful test gives me greater confidence to forge ahead with the next project. I hope it has for you too.

I agree with Marius, John and Neil. It´s true: very often less is more when it comes to weathering ......

Well, I like heavy weathering; medium weathering; soft weathering; clean work. It all depends on the context and surroundings, just like in real world, and the skills and art to represent it. Shading it's only one of multiple technics to achieve it.
Well done 👍

The painting and weathering looks superb. Just the right amount of dust, dirt and grime build up across the hull and turret for my taste. 👍

Hi all, thank you for comments. I like to test out on these cheaper, older kids not only so I don't feel too bad if I make a hash of it but because I like to see how good these old kits can look with a little care. Definitely gives one a boost to move on to the next project.
