Cutting out the wheel wells caused the bottom half of the fuselage to warp, to get the bomb bay in place without gaps had to clamp the whole fuselage in place to remove the warping in the bottom half

Album image #18
Forgot to install these two ecjection seat rails

Album image #20
Cockpit ready for final assembly

Album image #21
Dry fitting the cockpit, the front starboard wall will need some trimming

Album image #22
Port wall had some minor gaps to fill

Album image #23
Starboard walls fit aren't the best...rather biggish gaps

Album image #50
Album image #51
Fitting issues...can't press the top part in to align with the bottom half as the epoxy used to attach the resin cockpit makes it impossible...

Album image #52
...so therefore forced the bottom half outwards to align with the top part.

Album image #53
More alignment issues

Album image #54
The nose sections forced into position, glued and lots of tape to hold it in place. Let it sit for a day to set. The fuselage is glued in sections otherwise you can't get everything to align.

Album image #55
Next the tail section is glued.

Album image #56
The air intakes didn't align with the fuselage so some pieces of styrene had to be inserted here.

Album image #57
Album image #58
The whole fuselage eventually glued in place.

Album image #85
This doesn't look right...

Album image #86
Should look like this.

Album image #87
Used the Eduard PE instead of the Airwaves one for the bottom, now looks more like the real thing.

The slipper tanks sit too far outward on the wings if using the guide pins, it should not go over the wing hinges. **Correction - these are actually the correct positions, fixed later on.

Album image #133
Another view of the slipper tank sitting too much outwards on the wing.

Album image #134
Slipper tank in the correct position - actually not. Fixed later on.

Album image #135
The position of the fuel tanks were actually correct on closer inspection...they do go slightly over the wing hinges.

Album image #136
Fuel tanks reattached in the correct positions now.

Album image #137

That cockpit detail is absolutely insane! How do you do it?

Celliers
Hi Megan. I used a resin cockpit set from Neomega as the Airfix one had basically no detail on it and I'm planning to have an open cockpit. Just had to take my time carefully painting the panels and dials. Had some fitment issues with some of the side walls but once inside the fuselage it won't be noticeable 🙂

Umm, wow. That is some incredible work there. I have always wanted to do a Bucc, but had been waiting on Tanmodel to release one, which may never happen as it seems. But you are knocking this one out of the park!

this looks like a lot of work - but will be a rewarding outcome for sure, taking a seat 👍

Thanks Nathan, Michael.
@Daniel, this kit has a lot of work, nothing fits properly so you have to love filling and sanding. And then I somehow got into riveting the whole thing which added so much more work...I hope to have everything assembled in the next week ready for painting.

I have this kit is my stash as well. I see you used a few aftermarket sets from Eduard and others. Which of these do you find the most useful, now that it is done?

Your model is very well done, it motivates me to start on mine 🙂

Just lovely.. so nice to see one of these coming out
14 December 2020, 13:33
Celliers
She's finally finished 🙂
Thanks @Augie.
@Francky, I would definitely get the Neomega cockpit and wheel well resin set as the kit's are very basic, the Airwaves speed brakes PE set as well as the Master pitot tube and refueling probe. I only used a few parts of the Eduard PE sets.

Thanks @Nathan, @David, @Clifford, @gorbygould.
@playtime 222 - lucky you getting 2 kits. I have another one that I'm going to build in SAAF colours, but not anytime soon. The next project better be easier than this one.
