Watch that tanker mate! The joint is on the side. I advise a strip of plastic on the inside of the joint, full length of the tanker. When I did my ends, I had to glue them in stages, applying slight pressure on certain points, to make it fit more realistically. Even then, I still had to fill in places.

I knew it!
Put up a truck/trailer project and within the hour Bozzer will give a shout 🥳
It should be the Italeri Topas tanker, thanks for the tips

Martin, you are totally right. It's still based on the original Italeri Esso tanker though, with just a few fancy bits around the sides. Now if you want to build a real tanker, I suggest that you try and find a Revell Beall Tanker? That thing had my mouth watering so much, I contributed to the rising sea levels! It's a glorious kit, and I can't wait to build mine.

Victoria Nuland does not approve. 😄

Btw, I've been wondering if it might be possible to re-add chrome to the wheel rims on my truck kit, using a chrome pen, but not sure how that might look. I guess I could just try and wash it off if it doesn't look ok. Chrome pens are fun to use, but can be difficult, if not impossible/impractical for a larger surface, and in poor lighting where it is easy to miss as spot when going over the plastic using a chrome pen. Also the surface finish of a chrome pen in my experience, isn't very robust and too easy to rub off I think.

Hold your horses Bozzer! I just did a tally and I already added 47 kits this year. I'm going into rehab for this. 😉

Treehugger, strip the chrome from the rims and airbrush decanted Molotow. Let it thoroughly dry for at least a week in a dustfree place and then clearcoat it with Alclad Aqua Gloss. Let it thoroughly dry again and you'll be a happy man.

Lol, I'm here to assist you gentlemen, in any possible way that I can?
Treehugger, I agree with Martin. Although I used the molotow 4mm marker, for large surfaces, originally. Once I'd experimented with it in the airbrush, I never looked back. I bought the refill, and just drop that in my paint cup. Although I do clean it with cellulose thinner. But the markers do work, without a doubt.
