Hi guys and girls,

When my uncle died a a couple of years ago, he left an huge amount of kits, mostly airplanes and military kits. The kits that were in good order I have sold of at eBay.
Now I am still left with dozens of kits, but...
To store more kits my uncle removed them from the box, cut op some sprues and wrapped them in plastic so they would be more compact.
I have no intention to build them, my interest is more on cars and motorcycles. And besides, I don't think I will ever be able to finish my own stash.
So, what to do with all those kits? Airplanes in all kind of scales, mostly 1/72 and 1/48. Kits are old, let us call it vintage. Some will be more than 30 years old. The instructions are included, as are most of the decals, but I am not sure the decals would be useful.
My modeler heart cannot stand the idea of throwing them away, but to just keep them in storage is also not a practical idea.
Any advice?

P.S. I don't have a complete list, but if needed I can always spent a night or two cataloging everything.

Emil,

Its a hard one, some builders will still be interested, I'd be interested perhaps in the 1:48 ones depending on what they are. Perhaps try listing them on here to get an idea of who might be interested?

Just to give a small impression: 4 kits 1/24, 1/32, 1/48 and 1/72
I have 5 very big boxes full of this...

Put them up on Scale Model Graveyard on facebook

you could list them here, and clearly say that they are sold as they are... if you have the instructions it should be possible to identify them.

I started making a list yesterday, 4 hours and almost done with the first box 🙂
I am not looking to make a huge profit of these kits, I would like them to find a good home instead of having to throw them away.

Cool beans! Since I do a lot of scratch & restorations, I would even be interested in 1/72 and 1/48 aircraft parts and incomplete kits.

Ah, ok. I ask this, since my wife builds 1:24 old timers

I'm always on the lookout for 1:48 early birds (pre 1919). 🙂

A lot of plastic has passed my hands the last couple of nights. I made a complete list of all the kits.
The kits that are in decent shape and are in boxes are listed on my trade section in Scalemates.
All the other kits I have identified and listed here littleraven.nl/scalemates/kit-list.html
There are a dozen or so kits that I have no idea what they represent (well, some kind of fighter aircraft) because they have no instructions and some not even decals. I guess these will have to be guinea pigs for new techniques...

Awesome! With Christmas and other bills, I really couldn't bring myself to look at the first list as broke as I was! LOL
