Thanks for the nice words about my work, that helps a lot to put the model building depression of winter aside quickly, to grab the next model and be patient again until the pictures 😉 🙂 🙂 Thanks colleagues 👍

That's absolutely fantastic Jens!
I wish I could do mottling as well as that.

Hello gorbygould, sorry for my google translate english 🙁 but I hope you can understand the explanation of how I paint 🙂 thanks for the compliment on the 262 🙂, but I would also like to tell you, the stains are as simple as Cut hair.
I prefer a Tamiya Tigger with a 0.3 nozzle, the needle is set so that in the zero position a fine, very pure thinner comes out at a pressure of 0.8 - 1.0 bar, the color is a bit denser because of the pigments and needs then the triggering of the gun, in the gravity cup there is a drop of well-diluted paint, I set the amount of paint on a mirror surface, distance 3 - 5 mm pressure 0.8 - 1.0 bar, you can clean the mirror or glass without disturbance painting it is absolutely safe on plastic.
The very fine adjustment of the needle is necessary to delimit the stains finely, to paint from the inside to the outside and stop each outside, I don't always work, you can see it on the 262 in some places 😉 The well thinned paint is for the shades are important, each spot is "fogged" up to 10 times
The basic pattern of the spots are letters freely chosen and the gun is guided in circles, so no straight lines, that gives rough dots or too thick paint that runs. The rest is really like cutting your hair, a little practice and patience, the AHA effect will soon set in and the color will go onto the model by itself 🙂

Me and hair ended our partnership many years ago, so I'm not very practised at cutting hair. 😄
Thanks very much for taking the time to explain the process Jens. The next time I have a go at mottling I'll give it a go. Although I suspect that most of my problems are because I haven't the patience to get as good a result with an airbrush as you are able to.
