Maciej BellosMistercraft's kit is a reissue of the old Heller kit. Obviously it doesn't stand up to current standards and to make the matters even worse, the decals are almost useless. They are very thin, brittle, they brake up easily and the colour is dissolved when Micro Sol is used.
Still my daughter likes it, she has gotten better with the ol' brush and it was a nice training session for her.

Richard BerrieGreat work. Can you share some of your process please. Did you use a airbrush for the paint? The decals look great considering the fragility and the problems you had. Well done!

Maciej BellosThank you Richard! The whole thing was hand brushed by my daughter, I think 3 or 4 layers. Vallejo's liquid gold was a bit tricky, but she pulled it off. I don't think there are in progress pics, it's a kind of dog of a kit and it we didn't pay much attention on details. Minimal putty was used, I wanted her to enhance her skills in hand brushing and get some experience with decals (not the best specimen for that).

Airfix decals are pretty much indestructible! They can be used after years of storage. The Mistercraft decals on this one were next to useless. Next time I will spray some micro liquid decal film to keep them in one piece.

WhiteGlint, the original Skyblazers were bare metal. But my daughter wanted it to be gold. So gold it became! So it is half a what-if.

Slavo HazuchaOK, so the LG wells detail on the kit may be difficult to spot - but what a jolly finish - golden dart with stars & stripes, I can imagine the show & the music when this does a pass! 👍 😉
