The realistic black finish was the biggest challenge here (closely followed by the rigging). I really tried to avoid toy-like look of the high contrast black/white scheme.

Treehugger, the weathering of the finish, white stripes included was done using oils, "Oilbrushers" (Ammo) to be precise. In some places I also used chipping fluid and the light mist of Tamiya Smoke (I think it was...), which I then partially removed with a brush moistened with water.

I read somewhere that the Swordfish was the plane responsible for sinking the most tonnage in WWII, for the Brits I',m assuming. Beautiful work as well.
