I'm going to present this model on a plank together with a real Pz I tracklink I bought at Militracks 2019. I bought the Royal Model upgrades. I also compare with the LionMarc idlers, but these seem not up to the kit idlers and probably therefore predated the Ausf. B kit. I also found a Dragon early panzer crewmember.

I started with removing the thick plastic fenders, that also have too little anti-slip ridges. But the rivets will have to be punched in without much of an indication. Some of the interior PE was meant for the turret tank, so I'll avoid that as there is not much of an interior provided. The wheels now each have two PE rims.

Cool. I've got a Dragon Pz.I Panzerjaeger in the stash and I'm going to borrow your idea of putting on the PE and painting while on the sprue. Awesome!

You're welcome, Michael. And Carlos, thanks for the like.

I still decided to paint the wheels on the hull. It would be too difficult to pre-paint them and then remove the conspicuous mold line over the tyre. The bogies are fixed with poly caps, but I find them a bit too loose. The poly caps appear also useless for the two independent wheels on the hull, like the axles are too short for the caps to shove them on. These have flanges that can also not be fit flat against the hull because of interior detail(?). And one of the coil springs is turned the wrong way around and will have to be replaced. This can be checked on any Panzer I with two sideviews, but I guess a mirror part was easier to design for Dragon. And why do I also get these parts without the coiling?

I had to keep part of the PE unbent because the rivets were on the wrong side. I had left over the riveted plates on the lower hull, so I left the PE inside the tank. But while removing the triangle parts, 3 bogies were forced out of the hull again. Now I decided to improve on the axles of these bogies. The hull can now be shut. I replaced both coils on the springs with wire thread because the sides on the plastic did not follow the angle like at the front.

The metal fenders are bolted and assembled. I should have waited for this before assembling the hull, I needed to work on the fender seam before I could insert the anti-slip plates. This was still visible at the right polygonal structure, but was soon repaired.

The fenders and mud flaps are added. These are both in the RM fender and basic sets, so a second Panzer 1 could be detailed with this. But the large curved plates had to be cut down to fit and the instructions are quite unclear, often being sketchy and not being specific where a part should fit exactly.

The Dragon figure is now assembled. I added the visors and headlights, but left out the vision blocks.

Thanks for your support! Today the Magic Tracks on the left side are assembled. It's not hard to keep these as a loose assembly together with the sprocket.

Now, the right section of tracklinks is assembled. Also, the matress antenna is erected, but the front leg is too short and is replaced by a piece of wire.

I found a plank on top of an old cupboard, it's fit to take the tracklink and the model on it.

I fixed the tracklink to the plank with some piping brackets and then made a platform to depose the model on it. The brackets caused some difficulty to mount because they use an M7 and I had to get a threaded bar and take 4 sections out of it. There exist no bolts for this width. The plastic tube I found in a candy cane package doesn't fill up the brackets, but it's as wide as can pass through the pin hole.

Thanks, guys! I'm ready to paint the Panzer and its base now, the exhaust is added and I also found an Aber MG34 to replace the plastic barrel.

Thanks, guys, always welcome. The Panzer got its tracks now and some nature elements are added to the dio. This comprises GreenStuff shrubbery, Mininatur tree leaf and some kind of furry textile that will be painted green.

Bedankt Maarten.

The Panzerkommandant is now painted with Panzer Aces and he got dry-brushed too. He thought that suited him well in his little tank. But then he got in some foul weather from Mig an AK and it wasn't so pretty any more.

After adding dry-brushing to the Panzer and covering the potholes with AK Dark Earth and 2 empty fuel barrels I proceeded to the final picture set.
