Assume the twin seat bomber can also carry 3* 2000 litre tanks. Interestingly, neither the Revel B or M has pylons on engine nacelles for AAM but my mates Rafale C does

Thanks Guido, am I correct in saying its an M, it has tailhook and refuelling probe being my indicator. Know B also has refuelling probe, in general. Finding references has been hard, the best I could do was from the World Airpower Series, its follow on publication. Its amazing how little is out there, at least in English, that isn't just a coffeee table book

Thanks, I especially on the walkaround.

Guido, can I pick your brain. I'm building the bomber variant and have resin seats.do you know if both seats recline at the same angle. My backseat is fine but I have three sort of options for front in an unmodified cockpit tub, forward foes not fit seat in, back is on a raised platform and is too high for canopy so close and tilted, there is angled piece in floor which looks like where seat goes but makes the seat very laid back especially compared to rear seat which looks about right. The walkarouds didn't have a great of both seats from sid.
Any thoughts

I wonder if any decals will appear that says "This is for ISIS" you can put on the bombs. ?

Guido, yeah saw that one, it looks like quite an angle and the seat base does t seem to be horizontal on this either so may be correct, thanks

Bart Goesaert
wasn't that the angle of the f-16 seat?

wiki says: The seat is inclined rearwards at an angle of 29° to improve g-force tolerance during manoeuvring and to provide a less restricted external pilot view.[70] An intelligent flight suit worn by the pilot is automatically controlled by the aircraft to counteract in response to calculated g-forces

Ive built the kit seat to see how they fit, will take some photo soon.

Guido, uploaded photos now. This is the Wolfpack Resin seats slip in replacement to the Revell cockpit tub. The seats themselves are identical in size and angle to the kit ones. Note how the rear one ios nowhere near parallel with the front one, the rear one looks right to the eye. Surely the front one cant be reclined this much. The plastic seat is about the same. It comes back fairly heavily over the rear seaters shroud as well.
The set in the front is the complete resin cockpit seat for the Rafale M from Wolfpack as well. I've tried to put it at the same angle relative to airframe. It leans back pretty well also, about parallel with the front seater.
Its hard to get a clear photo on internet directly from side that shows the angles, most photos I've found are oblique which throws out the angles. She is ready for a primer coat and painting of cockpit and then canopy on, closed me thinks (Open for the M), so may be little hidden anyway. Just an interesting observation, they both look to be at 30 (or 29) degrees, one from the vertical and the other from the horizontal!!!!!!!
Just discovered now that I have raided the M version for the bombs that that kit also included the designator pod, I have of course just bought and glued on the resin oje......

Done, in the paint shop. Thanks for everything, will obviously post photos when it has some paint on. Maritime version almost assembled as well. Don't suppose you have any ideas on whether centre line pylon that holds fuel tank, can be used for exocet?

Scott Dutton
My apologies, poorly worded question, but I think you answered anyway. I had photos of the Exocet on the centre pylon, have bought Eduard resin one for just that purpose. I was actually wondering it was the same pylon that is used by the fuel tank, or whether you must change the pylon. The photo on page 6 looks like the same pylon. Interestingly, the cover looks like it has a smaller centre line pylon for that bomb.
Wished Revel would update the kits to give the rear engine nacelle pylons and the outboard wing pylons, just near wingtip, and the correct wingtip pylon. The more I play and see of this aircraft the more I love it, that gorgeous "dimple" forward of the intake. The French certainly know sexy looking, but with a bite to be wary of

Have to go back to bomb identification class, thought it was either bomb or depth charge. My bad.
The Eduard Exocet is just Exocet(s) x2, no pylons, fitted many planes I guess.

Good news, the revell kit, M with bombs has the pylon as not for use parts. Interestingly they redid the fuselage as well, as it has the chaff/flare dispensers and the holes and pylons for the engine nacelles but not mentioned in the instructions. The instructions also show adaptors for Mica on wingtips but don't provide them, friend gave me his from hobby boss kit.

Guido, just putting finish touches on 2 Rafale's, the B is getting the lights etch as we speak very happy with outcome, thanks for advice. Confession, my M I've done as Normandie Niemen even though it should be on a C, forgive me. I've now learnt about this squadron and am hooked so just bought a F1 to do another fabulous scheme. Found 3vanniversary schemes, 50, 55, 60 year.found the squadron website. Wondered if you knew of any French sites with their schemes for Mirage F1

You are very right, I say this regularly to friends but then worry about what may be said on internet forums when well away from reality, but again just a hobby and have always tried to be positive to everybody whatever stream of the hobby they wish be that superdetail, fun, certain weathering style, there is room for everyone.

That website is beyond what I could have hoped for, I have just been using Google images but you get so many inaccurate responses. This website is perfect, but curse you, you may have opened up a Pandora box for me.

I wish our military had the courage to do some like this, I'm at a naval airstation as I write this and whilst they have a few nice logo options, it pales compared to these French schemes.

I will photograph the rafales when complete and upload. I must credit and thank you so much for your tireless assistance it has been very much appreciated, if we are ever in the same country I owe you a beer or two, if here, or cognac if there.

Thanks and cheers, merci boccou

Yes quite happy, I'm a close enough good enough modeller only fixing what's easy as I'm aware of my limitations and know I prefer to have more completed models than 100% accurate unless it comes that way, lazy modeller. Was unhappy the canopy wouldn't hold down completely, I even clamped, the glue just wouldn't hold. My bombs not quite right either, was trying to get two different greens on it and to give that light metallic bronze green allow look of the guidance pack. Thanks for comments, suggestions and help, you've been instrumental in their completion.

Bart, sorry I don't, it was standard kit cockpit with resin seats, not after market cockpit, and not my strength. The other one I did had resin cockpit, not all of which was used, hence it is canopy open, but I didn't photograph it either. I use a fixed 50mm lens for extra depth of field so close up is not that easy, and that stops people seeing my failing eyesight as well. Sorry
