Very good start Simon, looking great. I know the kit and the resin interior very well, since I also managed to finish two of them. That resin interior is a great addition to an already very good kit.

A few notes from my side regarding the kit:
#1 If it's not too late already, I highly recommend you the resin exhaust, it really makes a difference with this kit.

#2 Check on the under side if there is anything you can do with the position lights, since you only get some holes (left and right of the nose landing gear), but no actual clear parts for them. But I see you closed the fuselage, so it might be a bit late (I didn't fix this either, I noticed only at the end).

#3 It's kind of known that the engine intake of the Trumpeter kit has an odd shape and it's flat at the bottom, instead of that classic symmetrical oval. This is quite hard to fix, but there is a resin replacement for this in case it ever bothers you.

I am very curios of the final painting scheme. Will it be NMF or some Vietnam camouflage? There was some awesome decal sheet from Caracal Models that I can recommend you in case you are not decided yet.

Thanks James and Marius!

1st jet for me and some inaccuracies so far.
I´ll hope all the aircraft specialist don´t judge me too harshly 😁
Can already say that it will not be perfect....

@Marius:
I thought about it, but decided against it.
So I was able to save some money 😉 and it's also a project with Chan Li again and we coordinated it a bit.

I also have to say that this project should only be a small change and I can quickly put the construction behind me.
My main concern here will be the painting not the detailling.

Yes, we´ve planned a NMF scheme, something like this has been of interest to me for a long time.

I thank you very much for your hints on the alternative possibilities Marius, but I will keep it a little easier.
Prefer to invest in my vehicles 🤣

Well Simon, you chose for your first jet on of the most difficult things to do in 1:72: a NMF. Weathering the NMF is the second challenge, so the best of luck!

Thank you for your support Marius, but I hope to need not too much of it 🤣
I try to stay positive, thank you.

I like the weathering, very interesting 👍. Curious about what process you followed

Thx Alberto!
But i have no idea about airplanes.
My third so far and my first try in NMF.
From time to time it gets on my nerves a bit 😉
Metal colors at all, I have always used for small details, so the whole thing is completely new territory for me
😆

It's really interesting painting scheme as people said.

At this point of time I'm a little confused where to go next…
Anyway good luck with it, I also take a seat here.
Bravo!

Pre-shading and metallized looks great!

That willl be interesting to watch going on 👍 Great job so far on the preshading with those metallics... seems bringing in some "weathering" with this step is a sensible wax to go. But I do not have any knowledge of NMF either, so I´m just following along to prepare for my Yak-23 and Tu-91 builds that will also be bare metal

Watching with great interest! My ongoing Ultra Sabre will also be metallic and this kind of preshading looks very promising. What paints did you exactly used?

I like the pre-shading technique. I'll have to try that some day.

Thank you for being there mates!
Welcome and thank you for your comments 😄
@S M: I used metallic colors from the Vallejo airbrush range.

Base layer: chrom+ metal medium
For the "colorful" surfaces, I mixed colors from the Vallejo game color range with aluminum.
I painted the panellines with Model color smoke+ burnt umber.
Sprayed a diluted mixture of aluminum and gloss medium with the air brush over it.
Then painted a few shades with matt gray.

@Rui Da Silva: Yes, you're right, I thought so too 😉
It happened by chance, i could say.
I wanted to create a varied surface and that happened.

@Tom: I am already looking forward to your silver birds, if they become like your tanks they can only look good 😋
For me, this is also completely new territory.
But I just tried it 😁
